Quite interesting. I think you meant to post this in the Vintage Heuer section, rather than here in the Connected Discussions.

You know what's funny? I've been following Jean-Jacques von Erlach (aka @heuerlach) on Instagram for quite some time. I had no idea he was the grandson of Hubert Heuer! 😲

He really should publish that book by his grandfather shown in the video. What a treasure trove of information! 📖

I thought this was a tongue-in-cheek video of your grandson, who I really hoped your son/daughter had not named Jean-Jacques von Erlach 😜

LOL. I always thought Hubert himself was the grandson of Hubert Heuer. 🙄

I watched the video last night.

It all seems very strange to me. They are pitching the video as a "tell all" . . . "breaking news" . . . "reveals all", but there is really not much new in the video, if anything at all.

My summary -- they are repeating some well-known / well-documented history, positioned as "Click Bait" with these dramatic phrases. Still some nice watches to see in Jean-Jacque's collection and good to get his perspective on the family / brand history!!

What am I missing here?

LOL, not the case. My Instagram handle (@hubert_heuer) is merely a way to be affiliated with the brand.

I had a similar reaction when I saw it. That is why the title of this thread doesn't hype it.

Let's blame it on the David Harper Antiques TV channel . . . they seem to specialize in the SPECTACULAR!!

But, in my view, that approach didn't serve either Jean-Jacques or Jonathan well.

I learnt that JJ's grandmother was the saviour for Heuer. A fact I had never heard.

I find you harsh, a video which shows pretty vintage heuer is always interesting in my opinion.

Do you know if this famous manuscript will one day come out?
