The colours of the hands are quite unusual, but why not?

It's also rare for the Red/ Green TAG Heuer logo to be used on an Automatic Watch- it's usually for quartz. Only other example I can recall:

I actually really like it, but I still find it hard to understand why Tag Heuer only make watches with a 30minute chrono, it's the single reason I've never owned a monaco, if you look at the orginal Heuer chrono compared to the modern it comes up very short

Its probably that people sort of expect to see a running seconds subdial on a watch, even with a regular chronograph with a sub seconds dial you tend to get people coming up to you saying your watch has stopped because the chrono second hand isn't moving, with those older chronos that have nothing moving when they're not running it probably confuses people even more.

Yes, there's something to that. Some people find the Calibre 12 70s Chronos disconcerting because of the lack of running seconds.

Having said that, the reality is that TAG Heuer have been "stuck" with whatever ETA/ Valjoux decided was the right chrono counter- which seems to be 30 minutes. Lemania 5100 has a different approach which I think is the best way to display chronograph elapsed minutes- with a central hand.

Quite possibly- given we have a new Aquaracer 300m watch, you'd think that a revised Chrono would soon follow

Reminds me a bit of my old F1 with the red green and white hands on a blue watch, certainly makes it very readable

At first, let me wish You all a Merry Christmas.
Finally, I add the next picture of a TAGHeuer automatic with the green and
red logo on the dial. I bought it in 2000
in Düsseldorf/Germany, not being aware
that it might be something special. Sorry,
every (TAG)Heuer of course is something
special, didn't want to hurt anybody.
Finally, Let me wish You a good year
2015 (and perhaps some more automatics
with the green and red logo?).
Sorry for the poor quality of the photo.

Until next time
Werner

Nice watch Werner. They used to be a bit less precise with when they used the coloured logo
