Here's a guest posting that I did for the Daily Grail picking my favorite re-issues done by TAG Heuer over the years --

    https://www.dailygrailofficial.com/...heuer-re-issues-with-on-the-dash-s-jeff-stein

It was especially difficult when it came down to the Glassbox models -- choosing the Skipperreras over the 60th Anniversary Carrera, the 160th Anniversary Carrera, the Hodinkee Dato, etc. And I am guessing that my selection of the Monaco Twenty Four "Gulf Edition" may not be popular.

So what are your top five?

    Jeff

Thanks for sharing, Jeff! I was surprised to see the Fragment F1 in the article, but I like that one so it was pleasant surprise. :)

The 160th Carrera and 60th Carrera Panda (i.e., Ice King and Panda King) get a vote from me.

Fun article and great idea. I love the Monaco 24 Gulf, but would've never thought of it as being a re-issue of any kind.

My top 5 (and not necessarily in order):
    - C11 Monaco McQueen (CAW211A & CAW211P)
    - 60th Anniversary Carrera, ref. 2447SN re-issue
    - Monaco Gulf "First Victory" (CAW211T) - Which is not a re-issue to me, but if Jeff can include the Monaco24 Gulf...
    - Monza 40th Anniversary
    - Heritage Autavia "Siffert" Calibre11 LE

No doubt, I took some liberties in my definition of "re-issue", but here was a watch produced in 2010 that looked back to Steve McQueen the Gulf Porsches that raced at Le Mans. I would have explained this choice / liberal interpretation, but she wanted a light, non-technical tone and I faced a tight limit on the word count in the posting. It's definitely a stretch, but I do like the watch a lot!!

Must confess that I was unable to consider any of the previous Autavia re-issues . . . David did the best possible version with his "Siffert", but any color scheme on this Autavia was "lipstick on a pig" . . . and yes, I still own one (the standard 2017 version), but rarely wear it.

Hence why you chose the Fragment F1. It's arguably the best modern Autavia, even if named F1. Lol

Best ever. I'd give up my friendship with @Yago for this.

That's my thinking . . . it's the best Autavia-inspired watch of the current century.

Without doubt, best reissue has to go to the CS Carrera series with the manual wind movement, original proportions and plexi crystal. If only they had put "Carrera" on the dial it would have been 100% perfect.

In future when anyone asks me my favourite re-issue I will say the Monaco 24 Gulf. :D

    I'd say:
    1. Monaco 40th anniversary CAW211A
    2. Carrera Re-edition copper/salmon dial CS3112
    3. Monza 40th anniversary CR2080
    4. Carrera Cal 17 Jack Heuer Edition (CV2119) and blue panda (CV5111)
    5. Monaco 50th anniversary full set (being a bit greedy, but TH did give us a full set of all 5!!!)

I'll confess -- I had forgotten about the set of five Monacos for the 50th Anniversary . . . the totality of the set is impressive, but I'm not sure that there is one that will knock the Monaco Twenty Four off the list. Further thought required.

Another confession -- I gave a lot of thought to the 40th Anniversary Monza, but couldn't quite get myself to put it on the Top Five list. Maybe it's the lack of an ecosystem in which the watch would live . . . it just seemed like a nice one-off watch that came and went. But a good looking chronograph, and better than the earlier attempts at the Monza re-issue.

Nobody has mentioned any divers. My favorites are the Aquaracer 300m Night Diver & 844 tributes. But the current Aquaracer 200m makes a pretty nice tribute to the 3000 series as well.

I gave this some thought and would like to play, too :D

    - Monaco Men's Club Japan (I love the out-of-left-field green & red combo)
    - Carrera Glassbox “Ice King” (I like it better than the Panda)
    - Heritage Autavia "Siffert" Calibre11 LE (as discussed above; or the JH 85th to be more realistic)
    - One more Carrera: The CS3110 (I like it better than the CS3111 thanks to the additional pop of blue, but I couldn’t wear either since 36 is just too small for me)
    - Wildcard: Any Silverstone (Again - wouldn’t wear it, but credit where credit is due: It doesn’t get much more faithful than that)

    My top 5 would be:

    - TAG Heuer Monaco CS2110 - love the simplicity of the dial and it relaunched the Monaco model/line (and since then there been some 40+ different iterations).
    - TAG Heuer Carrera 160th Anniversary CBK221C - such a colorful and vibrant dial that pays homage to the Montreal which is cool.
    - TAG Heuer x Hodinkee Dato - if it ain't broke, don't fix it... another re-edition of a distinctive Heuer model.
    - Tag Heuer Carrera CS3111 - so clean, classic, timeless.
    - Tag Heuer Autavia 85th Birthday Edition - crisp and love the BoR bracelet.
