Yes but it is not the 41mm Black bay you tried. I think the 41mm you tried is only called Black Bay. The Black bay 41 is something completely different.

Well I haven't weighed in yet but for me, for whatever reason the Black Bay 58 just leaves me cold. I have no idea why. But when I first tried on a friend's original 58 model years ago, I didn't quite like it and much preferred the Seamaster 300 Trilogy which arrived around the same time. I figured I'd like the blue model more though since I always preferred the Black Bay in blue over the other options... but when I tried that on the other week I found I had the same response! I really don't know why, I just didn't connect. Maybe it's because I'm finding I prefer divers in the 41-43 range nowadays as I buy more.

Overall I think it's an excellent watch and a great value, but on a personal level I think it's all right, I've kept an eye on ETA Blue prices over the years but never pulled the trigger. Not sure it's something I'd wear all that often. The other colorways just don't do it for me though.

The notable exception is the GMT. I love that watch and can't get enough of it. And I'm reserving judgment for the BB58 Silver 925 until I can see it in person - from photos, I really like the look! And I want to try on the Chrono too but it seems I'll have to wait a bit until I can try on either of those.

Good, there has been too little talk about the Black bay today!

You'd be forgiven for thinking you'd stumbled into Calibre Black Bay 58.

Maybe you can try both colours on the three different straps/bracelet and make it 6 different posts to treat everyone to as much Black Bay content as possible?

Why not also ask to try the Black bay 41 :D

Nice edits and good recovery, given your initial goof up of reviewing the wrong watch. LOL :p

We all have different tastes and that's well & good, but I do wonder if you really did get a close up look at the dial. There's quite a bit of "life" to it from my point of view. However I need to look at it with my naked eye to really appreciate it, my contact lenses or glasses just won't do.

There's also the BB58 Gold, Silver and Bronze. But let's not confuse things even further, I'll just be happy if Rob reviews the correct watch next time. ;)

Well see, that's what I thought. The pictures look nice, but in normal lighting the watch looks dull.... sorry. I do think the gilt bezel might help though. Maybe it's just too 'tasteful' for me?

I think it often looks duller in photos and better in real life. Oh well.

Maybe the 58 is a whole lot less dull than the BB?
