The American website definitely says carbon dial for the yellow and blue ones and just 'black' dial for the rose gold one...

On the bright side, these will be an outlet bargain in a few years 馃榾

Could be... you see plenty of carbon in the outlets now.

EDIT: Plenty is probably an overstatement, some is more accurate.

Felt like a rather clickbaity review

There are at leasy 5 or 6 'reviews' online. In reality they are all just high level introductions to the range as opposed to true reviews.

These carbon cases are intriguing, I wonder how tough they are. Scratches and tiny dinks on steel watches add to the patina 馃榾 I wonder how carbon cases wear over time?

Is the face meant to look pre-aged? As if it had been on board The Seagrass?!
As this watch only has a carbon bezel insert, my question wasn't really applicable.

But I'd still like to know: does anyone have any experience with forged carbon watches? Is carbon a tough enough material? I've read some comments on other forums about folks' FC watches being very easily damaged.

For a bit of extra colour, I'm becoming entranced by the Bamford Monaco. I buy my watches to wear and I want to know if "Forged Carbon" is a fit for purpose material. I'm not interested in buying a delicate piece of art that I can only look at from time to time but never use!

If only the bezel insert on the Aquaracer is carbon, could that be because decoration is all FC is good for? That it's not strong enough to use for the whole bezel or the whole case? I'm wondering if "Forged Carbon" is just marketing hype and not a functional material. Imagine all those clean lines and sharp edges on a Monaco chipping or breaking away...

I can't comment on the durability of FC, but I'm fairly sure the reason only the bezel insert is carbon on the aquaracer is it's a very easy way to create a new watch and jack up the price by 拢1000

I think you may be better off putting your money into something else....

Dealing with print and photography all day, the dial drives me nuts.

They obviously tried to go for a large halftone pattern, but I am not sure why. The halftone dots look so tacky compared to the rest of the watch. Nothing screams modernity like the look of an old newspaper

Yeah I'm really not digging it at all.... it's gone from carbon, to carbon effect, to newspaper.馃檨

+1 looks like a really bad parody of carbon fibre

No issues with the strength or functionality of Carbon. From what I have read, it is a very complex material to work with, especially to ensure water-resistance because the tolerances are so small. But that only applies to a carbon case.

The value equation is a question only you can answer, but it's certainly not a fragile material

QP have reviewed the new Carbon Aquaracer (the rose gold one) and well... it's pretty unusual to see a less than glowing review of anything in QP, but they didn't seem to like the not really carbon dial and their biggest issue was the price. Great for 拢1700 not for 拢3300.

Agree, the price is crazy for three hander.

Calibre16 chronograph more and less the same price...the difference is...CARBON bezel.

The rose gold one looks kinda fab. But i absolutely dislike these fabric straps. Do you think it would be possible to get this with a "standard" rubber straps from the other aquaracers?
