    The famous Patrouille des Glaciers race on TAG Heuer time!

    TAG Heuer also announces its appointment of a Chinese Patrol.

    La Chaux de Fonds, Switzerland, Thursday 3rd December 2015 – Today, at the TAG Heuer Manufacture in La Chaux de Fonds, in an igloo built temporarily in front of the building, Jean-Claude Biver, CEO of TAG Heuer and Chairman of the Watch Division of LVMH Group, Colonel Max Contesse, Commander of the Patrouille des Glaciers and Fabrice Favero, President of the association to promote and support the Patrouille des Glaciers were delighted to be able to announce their partnership.

    TAG Heuer is the Official Timer and Official Watch of the most famous international military ski mountaineering race, organised by the Swiss army and also open to civilian patrols, which will take place from 19th to 22nd April 2016, between Zermatt and Verbier in Valais, and which will bring together more than 5000 racers.

    This announcement took place in front of Swiss winter sports stars, and friends of TAG Heuer, Florent Troillet, winner of the Patrouille in 2010 (and trainer of the patrol of 4 Chinese racers invited this year by TAG Heuer), Séverine Pont Combe, one of the favourites for the 2016 race, women's course record holder and 4-time winner, who will race this year in TAG Heuer colours (both at the Patrouille and throughout the season), Géraldine Fasnacht, the famous human glider, wingsuit flyer, freeride champion and multiple winner of the X-treme Verbier event, and more than 120 partners, customers and guests from the military, who afterwards all shared a delicious fondue.

    The TAG Heuer Formula 1 Patrouille de Glaciers Special Edition watch was unveiled, just 200 of which will be available from the TAG Heuer and Bucherer boutique in Zermatt, the Boutique Jacot in Verbier, and from the online PDG shop from March 2016.

    Jean-Claude Biver announced: "The Patrouille des Glaciers is one of Switzerland's most legendary races. I am incredibly proud that the Swiss Army has chosen TAG Heuer as its partner. We are going to be involved in the race in the most dynamic fashion: not only as its sponsor, but also by organising the attendance of a patrol of 4 Chinese racers who will take part in the race and discover ski mountaineering in our Alps, helping to raise the event's international profile."

    Colonel Max Contesse, Commander of the Patrouille des Glaciers and Fabrice Favero, President of the association to promote and support the Patrouille des Glaciers, stated: "We are delighted with this partnership with TAG Heuer. It will combine the legendary Patrouille des Glaciers, bringing its zeal, endurance and team spirit to the heart of our stunning mountains, with the prestigious international brand that is TAG Heuer, the perfect combination of sports performance and technological innovation."

    TAG Heuer announced that it has appointed two patrols for 2016: for the first time, a Chinese patrol will take part, coming specially from Shanghai for this event. they will be trained under the leadership of Florent Troillet in the resort of Verbier, the freeriding Mecca and home of the 2015 World Ski Mountaineering Championships, which has offered to host them for their week of preparation before the race.

    The second TAG Heuer patrol will be a wild card that TAG Heuer will grant to participants whose application the organising committee decides merits further study.
