In my experience, it's not the brand or the store so much as it is the associate you work with. Sometimes I'll walk in to a boutique and get a cold reception, but keep going in and eventually I'll find the watch nerd who's having as much fun showing me the watches as I am trying em on.

Have very rarely found that person at a multi-brand AD though.
Couldn't agree more. I've had a few experiences like this. When I was visiting London, I visited the TAG store in Covent Garden to meet the store manager who had sold me the purple Monaco. I had never met the guy, just transacted on the phone and whatsapp. He knew I had no intention of buying a watch and he was fine with it. We ended up chatting for about 30 mins before he had to excuse himself because of actual paying customers.

I think it's about how couteous, curious and humble you are as an individual. The other person will react accordingly to the vibes that you give.
