Well if it's the CH80, they fit that one easily into a 41mm case for the proposed Carrera, and that had an extra-enormous dial. I think (and certainly hope!) that they could easily cut 0.5-1mm out of that, and more out of the dial (to make room for the bezel)

I do somewhat expect a similar "update" like from the 2447 to the modern Calibre 17 Chronometers - close enough from the front, but monstrously tall. We'll see!

Hopefully there will be two color options. I really love the white dial.

Movement-wise, I'm with you - I hope the CH80 makes it into production in its intended guise. If I'm dreaming though, TAG will dig up a cache of Lemania 1873 manual-wind movements from the Carrera re-edition days! Now that would put me over the moon...

 

Oh yeah, no doubt. That's why that'd be if I was dreaming I'll be very happy if it's the CH80.

 

43mm (or >50 lug to lug) will almost certainly count me out so fingers crossed that Tag do the right thing and keep this as close to the original as possible. If they don't then I'd have to say there's pretty much nothing in Tag's modern line-up under Biver that I'd be able to wear. CH80 would be great btw.

 

I have a minuscule wrist and bound to custom make all my straps.
You can sport up to 43mm, if the lugs are not too elongated.

Trust me you will get used to it.

 

Hah- I doubt anyone reasonably expects this to be manual-wind! Even though my dream Autavia is a new column-wheel manual-wind chronograph, I know that's not gonna happen

 

It's interesting that they haven't released the vote for the final. Pretty much confirms that it didn't agree with what TAG decided. I'm sure they won't ignore such overwhelming market insight though (assuming one of the fantasy dials came out on top).

Hopefully it'll be 41mm. Current tastes do seem to be swaying away from ridiculously large watches.

I would love a "panda" on my wrist for a change... Most watches go for a darker face... Black looks "slicker" and maybe more elegant, but they all look too dark these days, for my taste of course!
Except for Tudor, they're going crazy with color now!

 

Please pardon me to re introduce this discussion here, as it can be perceived as "out of topic", but seems somehow appropriate as you're addressing the size issue.
So here it goes: I'm a newbie regarding watches, so maybe that's why I see the Lemania 1873 and the Omega 861 as "siblings". But there is the size issue involved here. So if my assumption is correct (please shine some light on me!), how come is the Professional (Moon watch) dial is bigger than the Carrera re-edition?

 

I'm only guessing but could be a) purely aesthetics or b) something to do with the Speedmaster case being designed for increased water resistance.

 

The case of the Speedmaster is wider, at least when I look at my Speedmaster MarkII (for sale). The barrel case gives it more volume.
On older models, the dial is not significantly wider.
