Hi everybody, I have this Tag Heuer Pilot watch from late '90 which has never been used. I was wondering whether it needs servicing even though it was lying in the box for the whole time? Thanks..

Great watch! Welcome to the forum, does it work properly? If so.... I wouldn't bother.

Yes, great watch! I'm going to disagree and say that the oils might be a bit dried up, so although not mega-urgent, I would be tempted to consider a service in the near future.

Hi, thanks for the replies..TBH I don't know wherher it works Both minute and second hands have always been in the position as shown on the picture. It still has the original sticker on the back...so I thought that the best option would be not to fiddle with the watch at all. My only concern is posibility of a battery leakage ( after all these years of non-use). On the other hand I don't know whether this is possible if the watch has never been really used/ worn.

Well it's certainly going to need a new battery - I would be super worried about leakage if it's been in there for 30 years. I really hope it's okay as it's in beautiful condition.

Ok then...looks like I will be sending it in for a battery exchange (just to be on the safe side). Thank you for your advice.

Very nice watch- with the Royal Crown of Jordan on the dial.

I like these but I have friends that would tell me the watch is cleverer than me and it would be a over the top purchase, but, never say never.

Great watch, just ignore all the nonsense on the bezels and definitely ignore all the nonsense that Mr Orange speaks about it
