You mean the curved dial, out of place hour markers, oversized subdials,...? Yes that case has dream watch potential.
Yup. I have conflicted feelings on this one. Oh, what it could have been.

Hmmm. or Monaco duo by @virgilefontaine #tagheuer #heuermonaco #calibre11
I was doing this comparison at the weekend, can't quite decide if sticking with the McQueen was right but I suspect there will be something special next year in the Monaco range? that might just be worth waiting for.

I have no doubt there will be a special Monaco edition next year to commemorate its 50th Anniversary.

Been away from my desk, I need to catch up on all the posts and pics, here is a pic of my TAG grouping. The top left was my disco watch, LOL. Now my wife will wear it on the boat (it's a 200 meter watch after all) and will get compliments on her "new" watch.

I agree with your points Hubert.
Unfortunately the Calibre18 subdial placement will never make it possible to achieve those perfect 60s proportions with two subdials as these are simply too close together. This is very obvious with the The Rake LE, even though it has smaller subdials than the standard Calibre18. When compared to the 7753 it just looks off. The light blue dial also makes the hour markers stand out way too much, causing a lot of clutter. The dark blue dial of the Hodinkee camouflages this to an extent although I still think the standard Calibre18 hour markers would have been a better choice as they're much better proportioned.
The Hodinkee LE looks so stellar because it only has one subdial. It's basically a mirrored 3147 dato with the Skipper spice, genius. In that respect an Hodinkee style Carrera with black dial and a single white subdial would look fantastic I reckon.

Than you @Yago. Yes, I agree with your observations. And would also be likely to buy a Dato in black if they made one. 馃榾

@Hubert A quick render of what that would look like 馃槜

Pretty nice. Don't understand why Tag didn't make more models with this case size.

Must have sold really bad dont you think? Besides from a few fanatics, who bought them? Was it not discussed that the Hodinkee Skipper was made from old cases in stock, probably cause Tag could not get them sold?

True, but they might have sold more with a couple more dial options.

My preference would be 41mm.

I could never really put my finger on it, but I just don't like the Calibre 18 Telemeter. I don't think it is the size so suspect it is something to do with the case and crystal.

For me, it's the proportions that bother me the most. Here's a side-by-side that shows some of this. The Telemeter's subdials are way too large. And the curved-edged dial in conjunction with the glassdome makes the end result even less balanced.
