TAG Heuer made a one-off Carrera Heuer 01 for the 2017 Geneva Motorshow. Photo by @porsche_private_collection with thanks to @virgilefontaine

What's interesting is that @porsche_private_collection has also posted this image below. Note the 6 o'clock register has "911 R", which makes sense. Yet the live pics that I've seen have "ZZ1SR" (or is it 7715R or ZZ??R or ?????) in that register.

Yes, I don’t understand the numbers/ lettering on the dial…as you say, 911R makes sense.

i think the first two digits are 7s

Maybe 911 couldn't be used for whatever reason and it's the last digits of his vin number + R, or something else that has some personal meaning... 😕

I reckon that’s a pretty good guess

I asked him on Insta- it's his watch/ car. 776R is the production number of his car

Thanks. I was thinking to ask him myself, been following him for quite a while. He has an amazing collection of Porsches.

The number on his watch must match the number on his dash plaque.
E.g.
images

Letters would be much clearer if not linked across the bottom?
It would be, but it's trying to emulate the style of the 911R logo.

I still believe that if you’re a true Jack Heuer fan, the JH80 Carrera is still the one to get 😉

Still the BEST LE Carrera, the JH80 is a must have for the enthusiast-collector, while the JH88 is just nice to have 👍

If you're a true Jack Heuer fan, then surely you need both! 😀 I agree, though, that the JH80 is the best if you only had one.

The 40th anniversary JH Carrera CV2117 from 2004 is still the best in my book

Closely followed by the underground CV2114 from 2002/2003, when Jack Heuer was either 70 or 71.

It's very nice too, but it unfortunately has "TAG Heuer" on the dial.

EDIT: Don't get me wrong. It's a lovely watch that I've considered owning myself many times. Just that the lack of a Heuer logo means it can't be the definitive "Jack Heuer" watch in my opinion.

In that case, neither can the JH88. But I do agree a "Heuer" logo would've made the Carrera 40th near perfect. Regardless, I would still choose the 40th anniversary over the JH80 (which I think is too thick). Both are pretty awesome Carreras. 👍

Yeah but I still like it more.
The panda is Jack’s favourite dial apparently so let’s hope 2022 will bring us a Jack Heuer 90th LE panda in the glassbox 👍

Ooh, now you're talking. That would be one awesome watch.
