Yes, they sent me the old crown back along with all the old hands, gaskets etc..

Are you gonna stick to the SL hands, I had them replaced to the tritium ones again by a local watchmaker as they weren't in bad shape (cracked but that was stabilized by him).

I hadn't thought about it... er, probably just stick with it I guess. The old ones are pretty murky.

Yeah they do look murky,surprising, mines were 20 years old and looked clean, any chance yours have been affected by water ingression?

I believe the quote did say that there had been water ingression into the case, so that's probably why.

The lume pip on the bezel suggests something went on...

Aha understood. regarding the bezel they likely just put SL lume in the original bezel, mine was equally bright as the SL hands they installed.

Yes, it looks about the same... I can't remember if it was any good before it went. I find the bezel pips seem to last better than the dial lume on quite a few watches.
