Incredible Albert! Like I've said before, it always puts a smile on my face seeing photos of your whole connected collection. Thank you for sharing your passion and contributing to making this such a nice forum 😀
Thanks to you, Jim! 😀 👍
Now it will be very difficult for my Modular collection to grow any more, but I will continue looking for the Alec Monopoly Limited Edition strap, and the orange rubber strap with TH logos, which are the only ones missing! 😁

Looks good but yet another shot where the date is way off... is the H02 movement starting to change the date hours prior to midnight?
This trend is worrisome to me and casts doubt on whether I should buy a watch with the H02 movement. 😒

Exactly! I guess time will tell how good the H02 actually is

Perhaps it’s better to buy a watch with the Heuer 02 movement but without a date window, such as the Carrera 160th anniversary 😉

Speaking of which, when are TH going to make their own three hander movement so we can get away from the Calibre 5? Surely that can't be that difficult? Why would you start with chronographs? Just buy the rights to the Seiko NH35 and tune it up a bit.... 😗

Why would you start with chronographs?

Because TAG Heuer are most known for their chronographs. They make 3 handers out of necessity and to broaden their market appeal. They are th raison d'etre.

True, but surely it would have been easier to start with a three hander.... I guess the kudos was in the chronograph though. No one would care about an in house 3 hander.

Not necessarily, as they have a long history with chronographs.

I guess the kudos was in the chronograph though.

👍

Pretty much.

I dont think that is true at all. A new modern "in house" calibre with say 70h power reserve would create a lot of attention for the brand is my guess!

Lots of great in house 3-handers these days. In TH's segment it would be hard to beat Tudor.
The issues of rotor noise and thick case would remain. I tried on the BB GMT the other day. It's a nice watch but a big chunck on your wrist and top heavy. I must admit I enjoy wearing my hand wound khaki field a lot. 80 hours power reserve, very slim and winding it is pure joy. Better integrating the rotor to accomodate a slimmer case could go a long way.

What is that Monaco 50th book?

If you are interested with a SMQ TAG Heuer book sir @El Matarife , I think there are still copies available online or eBay, “Unforgettable Steve McQueen” which was co-produced by TAG Heuer featuring the TAG Heuer Monaco 👍 (It has 2 different hardbound covers, SMQ driving a convertible and the LeMans famous shot)

The other rare Monaco books will be “The Paradoxical Superstar” and “Heuer Monaco Design Classic” below 😉 HTH 😀

The white dial is really “flat white” for me when I tried one on. The picture above gives the dial a touch of shiny and makes it really nice. Probably depending on the lighting and the quality of the camera. All in all, a great watch. Although I’ve always looked at the ideal Carrera as clean & pure as possible. But I’m truly happy with the Carrera Silver 160 👍 It is everything that made the Carrera so iconic and timeless in the 1st place 😉
