    Thanks guys!

The model to the left is a Carrera Automatic from 2000. It was part of TAG's 'Classic Re-Issue' line at the time.

Cool strap on that re-issue. Can't help to think of how good the Autavia must be on such a black racing strap or maybe even a bit more like the Monaco strap.

It is! Trying to work out whether to keep it. I love the look, but I just don't wear it enough

Not getting rid of it though.

The silver and blue was definitely the pick of the two, although the grey is nice too.

Damn this thread! I joined the TAG club with the Modular 45, and now I'm contemplating my first non-quartz mechanical timepiece! (which I can't afford)

Haha welcome to the club, that's the charm and curse of watch collecting! Once you start to get a bit interested and read more you are sure to be on a very expensive adventure for a very long time...:D

For sure. I've gone from thinking $5k is an insane amount to spend on something that just tells the time, to appreciating the precision engineering and intricate details that easily justify the cost. I somehow stumbled upon the Monaco V4 and thought yeah, that's nice. I'll see what they're going for. Ha!

For a guy like me who bought his first higher-end watch recently 5k is an huge ammount on money on something that tells time. But for 5k you can get a lot of quality and brand for your bucks. But it's a fun hobby, and that V4 Monaco will cost you slightly more than those 5k that's crazy to spend for most people;).

My first TAG was by sheer chance (bought in a secondhand store that knew nothing of watches for $1000 Australian Dollars) the Heuer Carrera Calibre 17 (above) which I (stupidly) traded for an Omega Seamaster 300 Master CoAxial (and I never liked that watch and sold it too).

Recently I bought the Aquaracer with the white face and have since added the Aquaracer GMT Pepsi and the Carrera 1887 in Anthracite.

I still love the white Aquaracer pictured ...

Its not just about the time its the history and craftsmanship that you paid for it. Watch and timepiece are different ;)

Yes you can. Modular 45 is already a Tag Heuer (it's not that cheap). There is even the mechanical modular calibre 5.

    Welcome to the club !
