Ok so i know this is old but i just saw it and thought i could shed some geek light on it.....

The last digit or letter is not just the colour (or color) of the dial, it is the dial markings as well, therefore you cannot repeat the same dial code for another similar dial in a later watch, in the example you said a CAV518B should be CAV5180, ok if you look closely at a CAV518B's dial and compare to a CAV5110 it has RS2 on the bottom, plus the chrono needles are red. This makes it a 'B' dial, if you look at a WV2110 its a silver Twintime Calibre 7, a WV211A is a silver Calibre 5. Same case, same colour but one says Twintime ! Clear as mud ! and remember mud spelled backwards is DUM !

 

Can anyone tell me the model year of the watch I received. Or is it a fake?

Hi welcome to Calibre 11, your Ladies F1 ceramic watch was launched in 2010, the second number you have stated in your serial number, i would recommend editing the post to remove it as we don't want the counterfeiters to be able to get more serials than they already have !!
Without a picture of the watch it is not possible to tell if it is fake or not so if you can post one please do !

ok a WAH1211 looks like this, so sadly if this has the REF WAH1211 on the back of the watch then it is fake. Sorry.

 

To back up my reasoning, TAG Heuer do not make a ladies ceramic F1 with diamonds higher than grade I, which in laymen's terms are low grade chips. The Diamonds shown on your watch are cut like a top wessleton or brilliant cut, TAG Heuer do not put top wessleton into F1's.

I've been given a Tag Heuer professional watch . Model number is 974.013R.
It is quite a small watch. I believe it was purchased new in the UK in 1993
Is this a mid sized or ladies watch?

Does it matter what gender the watch is labelled if it looks good on and feels right?
That said, it is kinda funny that, back in the 90's, there was a "Boy" version but no "Girl".
My son wears a lady-Seiko simply because it looks cool and grown up without being ridiculously oversize ir heavy for him. It does not have pink trim or sparkles!

 

I believe some of the Rolex dealers / fans still refer to some models as boy-size, notably the yacht master.
