I've got a Tag Heuer Diver 980.032L with all the papers, instruction book, warranty booklet , customs invoice etc, which I bought in Barbados in 1992. It's the rare (apparently) fluorescent dial which still glows as well as it did all those years ago.

Back then it seemed a really big watch but these days would be considered small with a 42mm case diameter, and slim

Its lived a life and was my every day watch as a Royal Marine Commando, and is still in great condition but the question is, how much is it worth these days?

Im considering selling as its been sat in a draw for fifteen years and my son doesn't want it, the ungrateful sod.

Anyone got any advice as to its possible value...?

I'll add some photos shortly

Pricing is difficult as there don't seem to be many around. It kind of depends if there is someone out there who wants it and is prepared to pay what you're asking. I'd guess anywhere between $500-1250 depending on condition.

Im hoping that the fact that there aren't many around would increase the value. Its been a brilliant watch and typifies the saying 'takes a kicking keeps on ticking'...its very robust.

I'm torn really between keeping it or selling it on to someone whom would wear it.

I see you've added some pictures now. Watch looks OK, few scratches and scuffs to the bezel, but the biggest issue is the bracelet which has a lot of stretch. Refurbishing that will be difficult and costly. It's great that you have all the original box and paperwork, but realistically I can't see this fetching top end price. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice, honest watch. It's just not mint condition. Given the amount of time you've had it, if it was mine, I would be cleaning it, keeping it and wearing it. 😀

If it was mine I'd be wearing it.

A genuine glow face is in my list to buy, but I'm probably going to go for a black or khaki PVC model. Thats planned for next year though, I've bought this years already. 😀
