Good interview here with JCB: http://www.watch-insider.com/featur...-tag-heuer-and-zenith-with-jean-claude-biver/

    TAG Heuer highlights:
    - Smartwatch launched on 9 November in New York
    - The Smartwatch will look like a watch and use the titanium Carrera case- it will be basically identical to the Carrera Heuer-01
    - Will be called Carrera Connected
    - Will work with iPhone and Android
    - Tourbillon (Heuer-02) production will be 1000 units in 2016
    - Heritage style Heuer Carrera and Monaco will continue
    - The Monza will be relaunched in 2016- shown at Basel
    - TAG Heuer has hired an extra 30 people to help build production

it will be basically identical to the Carrera Heuer-01

So it's going to be a huge 45mm watch. The wearable devices are intended to be a big part of exercise/fitness tracking. Why would I carry a huge watch when I go exercise?

Just adding to what D.C posted, here is some more of Biver:

"It will be in a Carrera case. It will be titanium. You will not know if I wear, if it is Heuer 01 or if it's the Connected. You will have to put your finger on the glass, the sapphire and then you will see that it is the Connected."

There was some news and confusion(?) after Baselworld 2015 that TAG Heuer smartwatch will look identical to the Heuer 01 and now we know that it is not because of its skeleton case style, but the LCD will display Heuer 01 watch face as default, at least that is what I am assuming.

Yes, it will be...but I guess that is why they've made it from Titanium

Well, all of this sounds great. I'm definitely getting one of the Carerra Connected units when it launches!

Loved the "artisans of eternity" description that JCB made.

I'm looking forward to seeing the Monza return- love that watch.

A couple of years ago the other JCB (Babin) told me that in the mid-2000s he was rationalising the range and it came down to whether to keep the Monza or the Monaco- they opted for the Monaco, but the Monza has always been a popular design. I suspect that the Monza would sell better than the Monaco, but the later is a TAG Heuer icon, while the Monza is a modern design based on a little-known 1930s design

I also was thrilled to hear about the Monza. Who knows, maybe the Camaro will be next? One can dream, right!?

    Interesting- thanks for posting.

I think the price is the main piece of new news? Given what we understand of the watch (effectively the case and strap of the Carrera Heuer-01), I would have thought this type of price premium was justified.

We'll just have to wait and see how this plays out. Hopefully, there will be some wiggle-room for price negotiation with the Authorized Dealers.

Has there been any news about where/how the smartwatch will be sold? Will it be sold through the usual AD and greymarket channels? Or will it be sold through mass-market stores like Amazon and Best Buy (in the USA)?

For example, I was looking for the Frederique Constant Horological Smartwatch, which was apparently released in August or so, but I could not find it sold in many places.

Don't have exact details, but my local AD told me a few months ago that they were planning to put a special display for the Connected watch.

i'm not a fan of rubber straps and or smart watches, but i'm hopeful TAG will come up with something at least worth a look. The Breitling smart watch was a huge disappointment, hopefully they took a good hard look at it.
