1. Jeff Stein of Tag Heuer enthusiast site "OnTheDash" reviews the prototype version of the Carrera Heuer 01:

With the Carrera Heuer 01, TAG Heuer is making a statement, a bold statement. TAG Heuer declares that its flagship watch will offer dramatic styling, attractive decoration, high-quality materials and a superb movement, all for around $5,000. Yes, the TAG Heuer line-up will offer more expensive watches (for example, the recently announced Carrera Calliber Heuer 02, a $15,000 tourbillon chronograph). And yes, TAG Heuer will offer some lower-priced watches that will make amazing graduation gifts. But the Carrera Heuer 01 will be at the center of things, confirming that TAG Heuer will continue to make watches that will appeal to the enthusiasts.

2. In a Facebook posting, a Tag Heuer representative mentioned that the Carrera Heuer 01 would be released on January 16, 2016.

3. Tag Heuer redesigned its website, which now has a Carrera Heuer 01 product page with price.

I was surprised to get a call from my dealer today that my new watch arrived...

Thought it was coming after new years. No sign of the Heuer 02 Tourbillon yet.

Hey, first one that I've seen out in the wild- congrats. 👍

Thoughts?

I'm a Hublot fan/collector as well, so my opinion won't mesh with the folks that are fans of traditional Heuer. 😀

But to answer your question, I love it. The case looks really thick from the side, but on the wrist, it doesn't feel any thicker than a Hublot (I'm wearing a Big Bang today as well). The Monaco 24 feels much thicker on the wrist. The dial is beautiful. Definitely not for the traditionalist, but neither was the Grand Carreras, or the Monaco 24's, or the Mikrotourbillons. I'm just glad TH is going in both paths, as I'm a fan of the traditional offerings as well as the forward looking models.

Looks very special. New logo seems weird thou. Think that bothers me more than the design departure of the watch!

Congrats. There are certainly a few out there with some Authorized Dealers. In fact, two weeks ago, one of the dealers in Las Vegas called me that they had one.

$6000 msrp for Canada. Sucks that our dollar tanked by 30% in the last 2 years against USD. TH finally adjusted msrp for us this year to account for our crappy dollar with a 10% msrp hike and smaller margins for the dealers, which means I'm not getting the discount levels I used to get.

Congratulations, it looks fantastic.

I am happy to see that it is not bulky or overly big on your relatively small wrist?

I haven't seen any in the UK yet. I really want one, but... the official photos look great, but the photos on people's wrists - not so much. I need to see it in the flesh.

totally agree, I'm hoping they have one in terminal 5 next time I'm passing through.
