Formula 1 has announced that TAG Heuer will be the title partner of the 2025 Monaco Grand Prix, marking the first time that the event will ever have a sponsor in the title.

when the F1 circus is next in town as the race between 23-25 May will be renamed to the Formula 1 TAG Heuer Grand Prix De Monaco 2025 instead.

In related news, it was also announced two weeks ago that Louis Vuitton (not LVMH as a whole) will be the title sponsor of the Australian GP. To be known as the Formula 1 Louis Vuitton Australian Grand Prix 2025.

The difference is that TAG Heuer has become the "title" sponsor, in that the race is officially named "Formula 1 TAG Heuer Grand Prix De Monaco 2025".

Unlike other GPs (e.g. Quatar Airways British GP, Heineken Silver Las Vegas GP or Foster's Australian GP etc.), Monaco has never had a title sponsor before. It was always simply the Monaco GP or Grand Prix De Monaco.

I see that you are correct, it's just I'm sure it was said before that TAG Heuer sponsored that GP and that Rolex sponsored the whole series... I can even picture the video where I saw it. They were showing these masses of TAG Heuer banners everywhere. Maybe it was a Watch YouTube channel talking to someone at the race and they just assumed that TAG was actually the main sponsor or maybe they were but it still wasn't 'called' the TAG Heuer Monaco GP

Yup, the difference is nuanced. We've all seen those signs in the past. But TAG Heuer was just one of many sponsors of the Monaco race. Watch any qualifying lap and you'll see similar signage from other sponsors, including Rolex.

Similarly, TAG is just one of Red Bull's sponsors vs being the primary sponsor, which entitles Oracle to be part of the team name "Oracle Red Bull Racing".
