Hi, everyone! I'm new to this forum and generally new when it comes to collecting watches. I recently picked up what I believe to be a Tag Heuer 2000 series mid-sized 2-tone watch. From what I can see (pictures attached) the reference I believe is 665.013 and the serial code is JO9741. I've done a bit of research online and the model year seems to range between 1990-1999. Is there any way that I would be able to identify the exact year?

From my limited understanding and Google searches, Tag Heuer changed their serial coding in 1992 from the 2 letters + 4 numbers system. Does this narrow the year down to 1990-1992, or am I just making silly inferences? Would love to get some thoughts and opinions. Thanks!

Based on its 665 reference number, I agree it was most likely produced between '90-'92. From around '92/'93 onwards the ref changed to WE2120. But without any papers, it's hard to know exactly when the watch was actually first sold.

Thanks for the reply. Yep, I stumbled upon this forum which dates the 2000 series releases and matches them up against the reference numbers. Mine is a 1991 release, I'll link it down below in case anyone else is trying to date theirs:
