·This watch had me stumped for a while. The case back is stamped 266.006. When I searched this TAG Heuer 2000 model number, all I found was an all-gold chronograph dial, gold bezel, black case and an all-black bracelet (catalogs 1987 & 1988. Couldn't find a 1989 catalog and the model doesn't appear in 1990).
So why the white dial with gold sub-dials?
I first thought that the case back was wrong. Seems likely but I could not find a model number for this combination (white dial/gold subs, black case & gold bezel) in any catalogs or on the internet.
Then I found that the only two models with a white dial/gold subs were the 253.006 and 256.006.
I would take a guess that the movement and dial from one of those models was dropped into this case, as a replacement.
