What hole?
Where the unreleased watches can be viewed through TAG's website through the watch registration page. I'm very sure the Carrera Extreme Sport and the Pink Skeleton Monaco are still under embargo. Fratello got a jump start on the Carrera Extreme, and quickly pulled down the article.

We found a loophole of getting sale details from the warranty check page, and that got shut. Just basing my thought on what's happend already

OH OK then I understand. First I thought you meant this forum but we only post things that are available either through TAG Heuer themselves or other official sources such as watch blogs like Fratelo

The idea is to refrain from posting information which is embargoed. We can possibly build up on public leaks from other avenues (like the green Monaco on C24, Carrera Extreme on GPHG and Fratello), but we should really not he posting renders of unreleased models on this forum

How do we know what is embargoed when we see images out there on the internet?

Perhaps we need the brands to not “leak” so much…

Both fair points. It is tricky because like the Extreme Carrera published by GPHG. Once I saw that both GPHG and Frattelo published it I was certain it was no longer embargo. GPHG still has it on their website so I have no idea whether it is embargoed or not?

Also, TAG Heuer cant really be pissed at us when TAG themselves publish leaks all their releases in their own watch registration page

There is a very real problem of some people openly discussing products that are embargoed, albeit without model numbers or photos, whilst others do not know what they are discussing and so genuinely don’t link up these products with the chat. They then go on to post images whilst totally unaware.

They must also be leaking this information through AD’s who also leak this to their customers. Usually this is deliberate otherwise they won’t be sold out before even arriving on their website.

I was actually pointing towards the Extreme Sports leak prior to the GPHG and Fratello articles. Agree that these were picked up from the TAG website, but still needs to be controlled.

But all valid points. (Deliberate) Leaks are akin to free publicity - and which organisation would be against that. I think the ADs having information about the upcoming releases is important as it helps them to manage their stock and also so that they can get genuine interest from their frequent customers (who might also need some notice for financial planning for a watch purchase). The same goes for the various media houses, who need to be first off the presses with the glowing feedback of the watch samples they received and had hands-on time within the 5 minutes of the watch being announced.

I don't think TAG (or any other company) would be closing that route of passing information. They could close any other avenues for leaks that they are not directing and they can control, like through the watch registration page.

I hear you and totally understand why they do it. I don’t have any complaints there tbh.

My point is solely about the two tier approach where they want everyone to build hype but only those avenues they can control the narrative on.

I get it from their point of view, but I don’t see how that is fair from our point of view, if that information is out in the wild.

As you suggested above, they can easily close the leak in their system but not showing new models on their registration pages before there are any out there which can actually be registered.

I suspect they would only close down the negative posts but not be so active where any community loves the unreleased product.

So this is the 'Black Barbie' Monaco?
Maybe "Night Barbie", considering the other "night" models (night diver, night driver, etc.).
