While we have chatted about the worn-by-McQueen Monaco included in Sotheby's "Heuer Champions" auction, being held on December 6, 2024, I thought that the vintage Heuer enthusiasts might like to see my new posting covering some of the other vintage Heuers in the auction.

In the posting, I focus on the worn-by-McQueen Monaco, as well as nine other of the lots that have some serious racing provenance. As I was working on this posting, I was genuinely impressed with the variety of watches included in the Heuer Champions auction and the different forms of racing where we see Heuer's racing heritage -- Formula 1, Indy cars, Formula 5000, endurance racing, amateur and professional sedan racing (SCCA and Trans Am) and even the Pike's Peak Hill Climb and a seven-day endurance test of a Ford saloon, run at Monza in 1966. Yes, we can all be proud of Heuer's racing heritage . . . I can't believe that any other brand matches up with this heritage portfolio.

Here's the link to my posting, "10 Heuers that Went to the Races." I hope that others will enjoy and be inspired by these chapters in Heuer's heritage history.

The printed catalog for tomorrow's Heuer Champions auction just landed, and it is absolutely fantastic!! This 70-page book will become a cherished reference for the vintage Heuer community . . . it's really that good!!

I've posted a "soft copy" of the catalog OnTheDash, but by all means, try to get your hands on one of these books!

Was cool to watch. The highlights for me were the Plastic Rally-Master set ($6K for a set with a Quartz MT, WOW!) and the Phill Hill owned Ferrari Chronosplit--both well exceeded estimates. I was surprised the Dark Lord didn't go for more given one sold over $70K last year (at Sotheby's)...
