According to the TAG website,

Titanium 1983
Executive - No launch date (super helpful)
Aquaracer 2004
SEL 1987
Super Pro 1984
1000 Series 1979
1500 Series 1990
3000 Series 1984

They don't have pages for the Alter Ego, SLR, Golf, Microtimer, 4000 Series, 6000 Series, Kirium or the Link.

Astonishing to read that the Executive cost 5 times as much as the 1000 Series.
Yes, 1990 for the 1500 series. That's what I said.

You said 2026 is 35th Anniversary, meaning a 1991 release.

I know, cos it first appears in the 1991 catalogue. I've changed it, hence the picture.

I've changed the Titanium from 1984 to 1983 and the 1500 from 1991 to 1990.
Everything else on that list is either right or hasn't been done yet.

I can't see me celebrating 40 years of the Link. I mean.... whatever.

Even I'd hesitate to "celebrate" it, and I love the Link.

Ara Ara
2025 is also the 10 year anniversary of @Aquagraph joining the forum.

Definitely belongs on this list I think.

I'm just calling this out because accuracy matters if you start a celebration like you're doing with the Aquaracer this year. You should cross reference with other sources besides just the catalogues.

Some of the anniversaries you list are not correct and will not be in sync with what TAG Heuer might publish. For example, TAG does state the 6000 was released in '92.

Where did you see this Michael? I can't see a History page for the 6000...

The quartz watch was part of the launch collection in 1992 and remained in the catalogue for the entire production run without any significant changes

Also, as I told you before, DC found a few sources of evidence confirming the 1992 release. Such as this 1997 TAG Heuer Annual Report:

Do you own a copy of the TAG Heuer 150 Years book? It includes a leaflet that has the release dates for some of these. The Kirium and Golf match the dates you use in your blog. However, the Microtimer (2003 release) & 4000 (1990 release) are listed a year off from your blog according to this book. I'm confused by the Microtimer; on your blog you say 2002, but in this thread you imply 2004 by saying 25 years in 2029.

Also, according to this link which refers to an old Calibre11 article, the SEL was renamed Link in 1999. Also a year earlier than your implied anniversary date of 2000 by saying 25 years in 2025. However, I do notice on your blog you have it correct as from 1999.

2030 - 20 years of the Golf
I think you meant 25 years for the Golf in 2030, as it was released in 2005.

To be honest, it was a flippant thread that I didn't think anyone would respond to. I didn't exactly 'research it' as dash it off in as long as it took to write it.

Okay, I did have the 150 book but I sold it a while back. If those dates are in there that's good enough for me.

Also... thanks for the link to the 6000 Series page. But can you tell me how you got to it? If you go back to the index the 6000 Series is not even listed.

If I change 6000 to 4000 in the address bar that page also comes up - though it seems a bit unfinished

Oh.

Oh dear.

You see.... this is why I find it difficult to too uptight about this, because... as I alluded to before - TAG Heuer don't even know when their anniversaries are.

So now they are saying 1991 for the 4000 and 1988 for the S/EL.

Hilarious.

Yes, you can't always trust what's put out by TAG Heuer either. Somewhere on the website they say 1983 for the Formula 1, an obvious mistake.

That 4000 listing does seem quite suspect, as the 1988 date for the SEL is another error.

That's why I feel it's best to check multiple sources if in doubt. DC also found a 1992 magazine article about the 6000, as another form of evidence that it was released much earlier than its 1994 catalogue appearance.

As for the TH website 6000 listing, it just came up when I did a search previously.

So can you see the 4000 and 6000 in the Vintage index? Cos I sure as hell can't.
