Any tips to check the authenticity of an early Skipper please ?
Looks good at the moment but I would very much appreciate any help. Big chunk of money required but an excited about this!
Many thanks for any feedback
Cheers

A couple photos would go a long way, please make sure they're clear and close-up where possible

Well here she is with original strap and buckle https://www.flickr.com/gp/186498718@N07/084192
Would you believe that as I search for an insurance value one very large auction house suggested £3-£4000 and one refused to even consider as it wasn’t in their league (I’m paraphrasing)
Is this typical of the bigger auctioneers?

I see no reason to suspect it isn't genuine, and the parts all look correct. For values you might want to do a quick Google on Heuer price guides, previous sales etc

Hi Roger

did you end up buying the 7764? How did your research go? I’m looking at one and also wondering what’s a fair price. Thanks

steve.

Hi Steve
Yes I did buy and it is complete with original strap and buckle
I think it’s worth $15k as mentioned by Jeff Stein but a couple of UK auction houses have pitched in at lower figures
What are the sellers asking?
Cheers
Roger

Thanks Roger

A guy is selling what looks quite a clean watch on eBay at £11500. I saw one sold earlier this year in a minor auction in the UK for £9250 and one in Switzerland at £19k. Then a dealer in Germany is selling one with full papers and GF double beads bracelet starting at €21k.

thanks again

Steve
