路I just learned some new information about these Shell Oil F1s thanks to @Snowy, they came in this special case/box! How cool is that?!! 馃槑
The car shown is Senna's 1991 McLaren MP4/6. Which supports my theory that these watches were made circa 1991, to celebrate Shell's achievement of 150 GP victories and their world championships with McLaren.

I just received this Shell Oil x McLaren keychain, which came from Japan. Note it has the same design as the case/box for the Shell TAG Heuer F1 watch.
There are several promotional items that I found, such as these playing cards and umbrella below, all from Japan. But they might be available in other countries too, don't know.
The deck of playing cards pretty much confirms these were made to celebrate Shell Oil's 150th GP win, from 1950-1991.

But these Shell oils, especially with the box case, seem a bit rarer. They also have greater provenance (IMHO) with the connection to McLaren & Senna.

For reference, the one that recently sold was listed as NOS. It still had the original stickers on the caseback and looked unworn.
