Got this beauty in for a few days. Anything in particular that you'd like to see covered?

I was wondering about that from your latest Instagram pictures. Is this the same as seen at BaselWorld? Any differences?

Same one. I've got it for a "week on the wrist" so I can do a proper review

Things like case construction are things I'm interested in; there was talk of the case being modular to allow for easy variations to the basic design in terms of materials so a little detail about that would be nice: it's good to see that lug piece come out.
On a wider view, I'd like to be able to see how much Hublot is going on there if some comparison is possible. An example of that would be that date ring.

Maybe an attempt to see what actual differences there are between that and the 1887 designated movement.
There have been progressive changes to the movement since -0 model to -4 and this one has that new bottom plate (or should I call it the dial?) and I think I recall some changes to the top plate or maybe the auto-winding plate.

....but, other than an academic interest, this still does nothing for me...

My first reaction to the watch is the same as when I borrowed the Monaco 24 a few years ago
    P8143352.jpg
It's a Carrera in the same way that the Monaco 24 is a Monaco- significantly bigger, not as pure, but an attempt at making a design as radical and modern as the Monaco was back in 1969. Traditional Carrera owners won't like the watch and will see it as "not a Carrera", while people who like big, modern watches will buy this and never look at a Carrera Calibre 18.

The only difference between the Monaco 24/ Carrera 01 analogy is price- the Monaco 24 was always an expensive watch, but the Carrera 01 is priced very sharply.

I'm not sure, I can still recognise the 24 as a Monaco as many of the same type of detailing exists on both watches; it does look like a modernised Monaco.
This one is that one step too far and it looks like the only thing that carries over, is the shape of the (top half of the) lugs and the chronograph hands. If it was going for the modern Carrera look, I have to ask what was wrong with the initial 1969 look that came from the later Mikro watches?

How easy is it to change the strap? Is it specific to the 01, like the SLR series were?

I am asking because I have a tiny wrist, and often have to change straps.

Odd question but curious as to what it weighs, is it a featherlight TI/Carbon watch or does it a bit more substantial, and also is the modular case design with 12 pieces solid and strong feeling or do the lugs have any play to them
