Restoration ladies professional 980.018B, poor customer service at TH

Could anyone direct me to a jeweler who could help? I have a circa 1988 Ladies professional series 980 018b that I bought as my first "grown-up" watch in Europe. I had not worn it for several years and it was not running so I sent in into Tag Heuer for restoration. Their customer service was abysmal. No call with a quote, or even an email, just a form letter sent to me saying "we are returning your watch unrepaired", so I called in to inquire. The customer service just said they don't have parts for this vintage watch, but when I asked further, she didn't know what part was not available. I asked if there was any other option than just having a dead hunk of metal, and they didn't have any other options, other than reaching out to a watch "restorer", which they did not have any suggested people. So, does anyone on this forum have any options? I would prefer to drop off in the Pacific Northwest area if possible, but I am not opposed to sending in to someone that is legit. This was on my wrist for most of my twenties and thirties so I want "this watch" not a new watch. I also dive. Thank you in advance, I really do appreciate your help.

Welcome to the forum @dobiedoc! Are you in Europe or North America? You mentioned this was your first watch, bought in Europe, but also mention the Pacific Northwest.

If the latter, I'd recommend TAG1000Diver.com. I'm sure Justin can help to restore your watch. He's based in Kentucky, so you'd have to mail it to him. I've personally used him for several watches and feel he's one of the most knowledgeable experts on these old TAG Heuer 1000s.

Totally agree with your recommendation.馃憤

Another recommendation for TAG1000diver.com.

I've bought 2 watched from Justin and the service was very good.

The only reason he hasn't worked on my 1000 Professional yet is I haven't garnered up the courage to send the watch off to him (I'm in the UK, the postal service is ... well, let's not be rude eh?).
