They made it all about the bracelet, but then put that bracelet on Carreras and Formula 1s. 😵‍💫

Those Links are cool, I nearly bought one a few months ago - before the purge started.

Doesn't that bezel look like the new Aquaracer bezel? Well, just the grips I mean...
wait, what? Carreras?

I also noticed a difference, do you think it's because of the year of production?
lol anyone want to discuss how the movement in this, is the same one as what you can buy an entire watch for $100, from other brands?

There's at least one 'Senna' Carrera with a Link bracelet. Heuer 01 I think....

I'm sure there was an S/EL thread previously, but I've searched and gone back through two years of threads and I can't find it. So I'm starting another one and if Hubert or Albert can find the old one and merge them together then thank you...

So the reason I wanted to post was because I found a video on youtube of a very rare S/EL model indeed.

It doesn't have the original strap, looks like they used a later one - or perhaps TAG changed them at some point. This dates from 1987 so it is one of the very first TAG Heuer watches made.

Has a very JPS vibe to it. Bet it's very hard to find a full size (37mm) one... in good condition

After building up a small personal inventory of S/ELs, I decided to tweak one to my liking. Not sure this was ever a factory offering, but it looks incredible to me.

Start with a blue dial WG111A, add a genuine brown leather strap and secure with genuine highly polished stainless links. Voila!

Not sure if I am in the right spot.
I am purchasing a Tag Heuer S/el Chrono, Quartz white dial (early dial without rings), two tone with a full bracelet, solid gold links and bezel.
Does anyone have any information on this? I am waiting on the reference numbers but I have found nothing online. It looks like the center watch in the pic from (pic from Tag Heuer Enthusiast).

Got ahead of myself.
Here are the pics. It has LINK on the dial. The back was polished and rubbed off.
I believe this attached advertisement is the one.

CT1151 is the correct reference, and it is indeed steel & 18ct gold (solid gold bezel, pushers, crown, & links)

However, it is a first generation Link and not S/EL. Still a gorgeous watch!

I haven't worn this S/EL (ref. S95.806K) in over a decade, popped in a battery and it still runs like a champ! It reminded me that there's a story behind this watch, I thought I'd share.

This was my first S/EL and third TAG Heuer. My wife bought it for me as a surprise birthday present, thinking it looked like Senna's watch, as it came on a brown calf strap. It was such an awesome gift, that I didn't have the heart to tell her it wasn't the exact model. I felt it was almost like Senna's and was super happy with it. I cherished the watch, wore it nonstop for 3 to 4 years. But then one day I decided I had to get the real Senna S/EL ana-digi model for myself. I felt really guilty doing that, but the heart wants what the heart wants.

While this watch then took a backseat to my Senna CG1123, I had noticed Jean Alesi wearing this S/EL model and nicknamed it the "Alesi". Who was my second favorite F1 driver of the '90s after Senna. Thus, it was still a nice fit in my early years TAG Heuer collection, following my OG Formula 1 and 2000.

While my Senna gets more of my attention, my Alesi is one of the most sentimental pieces in my collection. 😍

A few more shots of Jean Alesi and his S/EL.

My original strap was a dark brown like Alesi's. But it broke years ago, my OEM replacement is lighter shade of brown, so it no longer matches his like it used to.

While doing research on the Senna S/EL Ana-Digi models, I ran across two colors I never knew existed in the S/EL Ana-Digi line up: Blue and Green.

Blue dial CG1113

Green dial CG1124

Does anyone know the background on these?

All the catalogues only show the white dial S29.006/CG1111, anthracite dial S25.206/CG1122, and cream dial S25.706/CG1123. So, these two are a mystery to me. The majority of them seem to come from Japan, so I'm guessing these might've been country or region specific?

Only that I included them in my history of the S/EL
Well done. 👍

I kind of dig the green dial, especially with the brown strap combo.

Any idea on the background? They don't appear in any of the English catalogues. I have a Japanese S/EL pamphlet from Dec. 1996, but they're not listed there either. All the ones for sale seem to have originated from Japan. An Australian auction site had one listed and stated it's a Limited Edition. Hence, my best guess is that these were Japan LE's released in the late '90s.

FWIW, I'm pretty sure the CG1113 Blue Dial's bracelet is the same as the stainless steel brushed & polished bracelet found on the CG1111. Which would mean BA0423, should you care to update your History of the S/EL.
