UPS destroyed the box and lost my 972.613 when it was on its way back to TAG Heurer for battery replacement. I have smaller wrists and loved this mid size watch. I need to be able to show a price for the watch in order to make a claim with UPS. I had the watch insured in shipping, but didn't expect to need to make a claim. I received the watch as a gift in 1988, so I don't have a receipt. Where can I find an authoritative price on the watch? Where can I find an equivalent mid-size watch?
    Thanks!

Hi- you're in luck. Here is a 1987 TAG Heuer Catalogue, with a price list in British Pounds: (it's the last few pages)

    http://www.calibre11.com/tag-heuer-catalogues/1988-catalogue-professional-sports-watches

It shows that your watch cost GBP320 at the time....and here is the same watch sold a while back for GBP325
    http://www.tagexchange.co.uk/Sold-Midsize/TAG-HEUER-MIDSIZE-2000-SERIES-WATCH-972.613.html

If you want to replace it with the same model, keep an eye on eBay..otherwise, make sure the insurance company gross up the value for you so that you can buy the equivalent watch today.
