Anyone having issue with accessing the Watch battery stats via the recent Wear OS app for Android? I have tried to reset the watch to no avail. Thanks!

anyone went swimming with his CM45? I was in Dubai on vacation last week and decided to keep it on for a swim in the hotel pool, not more than 10 mins in the water. Seemed to be holding out well but i did detect some funny behaviour of the watch afterwards. Touch screen didn't work properly and some glitches which normalised after 10 minutes. I would have expected the CM45 to be suitable for swimming. Any other experiences?

I’ve had my CM45 for a year now with the one and only complaint being that the screen goes bonkers when in water..... annoying, especially as TAG do have a surfer in their marketing adverts. While thinking about it, it’s completely logical that water splashing on it will simulate a ‘touch’ but the constant face switches and loss of sensitivity to touch until it dries out, make the watch hopeless for watersports.
On a few occasions have had the sea water evaporate and leave a residue of various salts on the screen. This has caused havoc with the touch screen staying on permanently, with battery life dying, unless rinsed in fresh water...
This might be a Middle East (Dubai) specific thing where the water evaporates in seconds?

The solution - turn the screen off and don’t check the time until it’s dried out and rinsed....

Other than that and to calibrate my answer in case people think I’m being negative - honestly, it’s a great piece of kit, never had any connectivity issues with multiple iPhones, love to listen to music direct to my headphones while running, have many straps and have both the mechanical Calibre 5 & Calibre 16 modules......

The Wear OS Oreo update brings screen lock for when you take the watch swimming. It's already in my CM45.

Hi, This is my first post here. I have three points to raise if I may.
One. General Observations. Have you seen the absurd so called reviews on YouTube where members 'compare' the TAG with other smart watches like the LG and Samsung etc? Such reviews puzzle me. Would the same reviewer expect to be treated seriously if he reviewed a Skoda with a Bentley? Both cars both have four wheels an engine plus seats etc? Such reviews are totally unrealistic. The TAG is hand made in Switzerland while my Samsung Gear 3 is mass produced in China in the tens of millions.
Of course this TAG is not for the general smart watch customer. Its not aimed at a mass market. The type of person attracted to this TAG is going to be a watch collector (like me) who also wants to own a smart watch without being charged with heresy.

Two. questions. The case of this TAG is made from Titanium. This is obviously to save weight. Though titanium is lighter it is also 'softer' and thus prone to scratches. In the retailer I visited yesterday BOTH the models I had gone to view, though new, had marks on the side and watch clasp?
I saw the blue ceramic bezel with blue rubber strap also the black ceramic bezel with brown leather strap. I spoke with the watch section manager who agreed neither model could be sold to a customer and both would have to be returned to TAG. I find this alarming as neither watch was open to the public and both watches where locked in a case and only available to view with a sales representative yet both looked used? Not a 'fault' of TAG but the retailer.
My point here is if both these watches had such marks this clearly indicates the titanium used is not top grade also there is no protective layer placed on the titanium to help avoid scratches. My question here is do the members here find the TAG marks easily? I am not 'easy' on my watches and fear the TAG would look like a war scene within a month?
The TAG has a very good sapphire crystal and with a ceramic bezel this watch would have been near mark free IF TAG had used a higher grade Titanium or treated the metal with a coating OR made the case from high grade SS. Seems a little odd?
Underneath the ceramic bezel there is a black face section with 'Swiss made' printed on it. What is said face plate made from? Is it some sort of plastic?

Does the watch via the OS on the mobile, monitor sleep?

In general. I do have grave doubts about ownership of this TAG. No question the build and finish of the watch is top class, the 'Bentley' of smart watches. Here also though lies the rub. Such technology moves at such a pace this TAG is already way out of date in comparison with other smart watches. The 45 is already a great improvement over the first iteration that had very few sensors? My guess would be the 45 will be replaced late this year or early next year with a new model that is also an advancement over the 45? Can spending from 1.65k to 10k therefore be justified today?
I am head strong and want this watch however its the first watch I have ever purchased in over 4,5 decades that I have reservations about. My heart is sold but my head screams no! I am an avid watch collector and though not a horologist myself come from a family of horologists.

I've had my black PVD Titanium 41 since it was first released and no marks yet. I change straps often too.
