Well, mine had the 2nd clear protective plastic as well. That explains why my screen was showing "scratch marks". Well spotted @dc42
Same here, thought I had chipped it for about three hours was gutted then pulled off the second one!

That's more than acceptable depending on your settings. Don't know what default settings are; Bluetooth on? Wi-Fi on? Tilt to wake? Email and other notifications on?
Notifications on, Bluetooth on, WiFi auto, screen always on, but display turns off on prolonged lack of movement (basically it detects when you are not wearing it).

Of course it's fair to compare performance and battery life. If the processor isn't as good or as efficient as that in other watches (which is not what I'm suggesting) then it would be the wrong choice.
My main point is that Tag has launched a watch (long awaited by many and looking superb) which doesn't perform as it should. The problems should have been identified and sorted before the launch - a major blunder in my opinion, especially from such a renowned company.
My point was that comparing energy consumption from two different processor architectures is a bit like comparing apples and oranges.
What is important here is that the excessive battery consumption that some users experienced appears to have been caused by a software update that contained a bug. This apparently was identified and "pulled", but some users got it before it was taken out. Now that those users have received the corrected update on Saturday, the measurements should be retaken and watches recalibrated.

Just received this from Tag Support:

"I've been advised the update is being pushed over the next week. Please place your watch on its charger overnight and make sure its connected to the phone. Once your build number changes you will know you received the update. We hope this resolves your issue."

Interesting if it downloads magically in the background ... (build is stil NXG12F)

Is yours now running this build? If so, that explains to me why you can now see the Heuer-01 watch face.

Anyone?
Thoughts? Likes? Dislikes?

Trying to do my due diligence before taking the plunge. I love the aesthetics, just looking for advice from people who have the watch and an iPhone. Thank you.

I understand your curiosity. I am very much on Apple ecosystem myself. It is advisable to manage your expectation before jumping to Android Wear with iOS. Functionality is very very limited, to a point that you will hate it. Tag Heuer Connected is my 3rd smartwatch after Apple Watch and Moto 360 2nd Gen. If you buy Android Wear for full features compatibility, you will be very frustated. After 2 years wearing Smartwatch, i know what i want from smartwatch, which is ONLY notification to my wrist. That is why i can accept limited compatibility between iOS and Android Wear. When im on Moto 360, at that time Android Wear iOS does not support Watchmaker. It kills me to see a lot of Tag faces that you can choose, but the fact that i need to change to android phone to access it kills me. Hence the update to Tag Connected.

Yep.

Also, zero improvement to battery.

Don't get the same stuff on iOS. All I can say is with general wear and everything switched on, I use 5% per hour.

Has anyone else noticed the notifications to be a bit random? I'm on iPhone and receive Sky News, instagram notifications instantly but emails seem a bit hit and miss. I also need to add my Oulook work emails, how is best to do this? Battery has definitely improved, 9 hours today and have 69% battery remaining.

I now have 10 hours of use today and 48% left. its not ad good as the first Connected, but it gets better from day to day.

Regarding notifications: I get all my mail directly on the watch (personal Apple account and work Outlook account). I think you have to add all accounts to the stock Mail app on your iPhone.

Yes go into settings and set each one for notifications on your iPhone.

I am using around 5% per hour with everything on, and occasional use of watch.

Notifications from email I can't get to work properly. Using android Samsung S7 with google mail, and the main email app on phone for separate account. I got a couple of email come through one day to watch, but since then nothing from either account. Previous watches have not had to do anything special once paired. Any one advise what I am missing before I log with Tag please? I am getting Facebook alerts ok at present!

[edit] my own fault I think, but will update if not the reason, somehow I enabled power save mode on my phone which stopped email notification from running in the background, switched off and an email popped through!

I have both accounts on the stock mail app on iPhone and works fine on there. I've also allowed notifications as far as I can see. Maybe have to try a reset?

We'll see what happens in the morning!

Hi guys, I just got my phone three days ago and the battery lasts for over 24 hours (bluetooth and Wifi are always on and the watch itself is always on). I have 2 questions: can you change the look of the screensaver and when it kicks in?
I am getting the notifications from Facebook Messenger, but is there a way to get them from Facebook as well?
