Looks great in the video. Omega has hit another home run with this one.

Very impressive!
Seeing the domed sapphire crystal in that video really shows that Omega has done what TAG should've done on the glassbox crystal. It mimics the hesalite/plexi domed crystal but with very little distortion or milky ring.

What's even better is it's not limited production and even slightly cheaper than the standard sapphire sandwich Moonwatch.

Wonder if the Speedy Pro Sapphire will soon have the same doomed sapphire

Yes, lots of good practices that I wish our friends at TAG Heuer can apply to bring back more faithful heritage re-editions.

The current sapphire Speedmaster crystal is way better than it used to be, not a huge difference from the plexi these days IMO.

Tag doesn't have to look far as Zenith uses it on the A386's.

It's better than the older versions of the Speedy Pro, but still can show that milky ring. Shown here.

Compared to the new FOIS. There's a big difference to me.

Imagine a faithfully proportioned, heritage Heuer branded Carrera, with a clear glassbox like that!

Agreed. It’s better than previous but still shows the milky ring.

From what I’ve read the new FOIS sapphire is more like the Plexi in appearance and shape rather than a box sapphire also.

Still no one does sapphire like Oris did on its 65 that was lovely.

I visited my OB last evening and did a side by side compare. The shape of the new FOIS crystal is much more domed, shaped just like Omega's hesalite. Whereas the Speedy Pro's sapphire (and even the Ed White's) is a flatter boxed crystal.

The FOIS wasn't for sale, just for showing to customers.

Overall I think the new FOIS is nicely done. I just can’t warm to fauxtina though, unfortunately.

Must be due to not being a vintage guy I guess.

White Speedie is something I can warm too though!

This is correct. It’s not hugely different, but noticible when you look closely. There’s also zero milky ring.

I was lucky enough to pick one of these up today and it’s terrific. It’s finished as well as the E/W but at a much lower price point. The faux patina is quite dark, but actually suits the watch which is more sunburst/ glossy than other speedies and gives it a bit of warmth compared to the sterile look - but that’s subjective.

There’s nothing not to like here at the price point in comparison to what others offer. If you fancy an Ed white but have little emotional connection to the moment, then this is a pretty good alternative at a very much more palatable price point.

Indeed @stevec14, very nice purchase.

Not knocking it, regarding my fauxtina comment, just not what I personally go for. Easy to say when haven’t seen in real life mind you. Might change my mind when that happens.

Congrats, @stevec14! Looking forward to your pics.
Unfortunately when I picked it up it was getting dark so no chance yet. Will do so tomorrow and post a couple up. The good news is that these are going to be relatively plentiful I think, so a great option for those who are not that sold on the 42

And that is 100% fair enough. One of the reasons I never bonded with the original pro many years ago was that its was too sterile/ monochrome for me. The Ed white resolved that with its off white lume. Ultimately, it’s all what our own preferences are.

The lume here is darker for sure, but highlights the white chrono hands and works pretty well with the glossy, sunburst, soleil dial.

But different strokes and all that. If we all liked the same things the world would be a boring place!

Quite hard to get a decent pic of due to the sapphire but here’s the first.

It’s slightly darker - think my phone has lightened it up a shade!
