Looks like Omega releasing a new FOIS on the 3rd October according to their Insta
Exciting news; I think this will an improvement over the original, which I have. As others speculated, I think they will ditch the "leaf" seconds hand, put the vintage Omega logo, add aged-lume markers, have an improved case that can go with the Ed White bracelet, and of course be more expensive.

It would be very easy for Omega to take the 321-powered 105.003 reissue, change the hands and make a few small changes to the dial. After all, that's essentially what was done when transitioning the original 2998 to the 105.002 and then .003.

Boom, new 3-year waiting list for minimal effort!

BTW here is my photo of the first Omega in space which they brought to an event in NY not too long ago.

I agree that I might not want to spend £1k on it, but I very much enjoy the fact that they are ballsy enough to put something like this out. Proper cool.

I must admit, I’m kinda tempted. I spent a lot of time desk diving and I’m not sure my BB Ceramic fully expresses my distaste for it

This looks unusual and quirky: Christopher Ward Desk Diver https://www.christopherward.com/int/desk-diver-landing-page.html

It's interesting to look at, and a few minutes entertainment reading the markings, but not sure it has any lasting appeal.
And ... it's sold out already.

I wonder how many they were planning to make. I didn't see it listed on the web page, but it either wasn't many or a lot of people jumped on these.

According to Fratellowatches, CW made only 500 of these.

Like it. Aged lume could be a bit much, but it looks warm. £7400 seems in line with the rest of the range, but equally seems like a lot given the reasonable price of the original Moonwatch and FOIS just a few years ago.

Longer straighter lugs, stepped dial, sunray blue dial...
No wonder I like it, it's starting to morph into a Carrera!

I never quite liked the first-gen FOIS, I thought the short markers and stark white lume just didn't line up well with the OG 2998. This one looks absolutely fantastic though and I could see myself hunting one once they start to get cheap in a couple years.

Definitely getting one of these FOIS. The only ding is the arrow seconds hand, once again.

I think this one looks really nice. Even has the Omega logo in the sapphire crystal.

I think the new FOIS is awesome. Leap frogs over the white Speedy as the next Omega I'd be most tempted to buy.

I especially like the blue gray dial treatment combined with the cream fauxtina. Omega also seems to have cracked the code with developing a domed sapphire that looks like it's hesalite.

Like everything about it really. 👍
