Popped into Meadowhall (Sheffield) today, and there's a new TAG Heuer shop, right next to Hotel Chocolat (so all my favourite things in one place!). Decent stock, although no Aquaracer GMT or the new white dial Aquaracer...

They have got the Man Utd Carrera though... 🤮

It feels like they're really struggling to find their market.
The two "original" London boutiques closed and they're opening one in Spitalfields in their place but I'm not sure if that's a better location than the previous ones.

Who in the area are they targeting?

Spitalfields, really? That's just behind my office! Oh dear 😀 I already have to put up with passing the Omega boutique and Watchfinder on my way home.

Location seems good to me - in the heart of the City's financial district. Although slightly out of keeping for Spitalfields which moves ever up market!

It's along the way before Cheaney; I passed by before they opened a couple of weeks back.

I just can't quite see the customer type of the area matching being a good fit.

Well I paid a visit to the Spitalfields boutique today - just happened to be passing. Tried on the Autavia for size. Seems to be right on the limit for me - was more concerned about the height of it rather than the diameter, though. Beautifully-made watch, but perhaps slightly on the blingy side with the shiny beads of rice bracelet? Might actually be less conspicuous on the strap?

Yes, in the strap it would be far more understated. The polished grains-of-rice bracelet can be too much 'bling'. I would have rather preferred a less reflective polish, or light-brushed finish like in the original Siffert re-issue.


For me, it would have been better with the black strap that was pictured prior to its release.
