The whole "coming soon" tease for a singular piece that's sure to go for near 6 figures at a charity auction, is kinda disingenuous no?
+1 and it's already in the open since start of July.

Posting it here since it's another "SM reveal" from this week - although I'm not really sure what to make of it...

So: I received an invitation to a TH event in one of their boutiques, which reads (my translation) as follows:
"The TAG Heuer Boutique XYZ is glad to exclusively invite you to the launch event of our new Carrera collection on Friday, 8th of October".

Anyone else received this? Any clues what's coming up?

I attended an online launch/info session a few weeks ago with @kappa_md. It wasn't anything special just an attempt to get people to buy something.

May be something similar.

I think the IG teaser is just rekindling the hype 🙄 The more hype, the more $$$ It wouldn’t probably hurt it you add more fuel to a dying flame 🍿

Im guessing, just pure guessing though, that there are some new Carrera models coming
And I’m guessing… No, hold on! I’m actually sure that you’re a smart cookie

Dunno. In the invitation email they mentioned that they'd bring in a “historian of automobile racing” (something like that). So it sounded more chrono- than threehander-focused to me…

Guess our guru will know (and share) something soon enough.

Since when has TAG cared about details like that LMAO 😁 😁 😁 ... to them, naming something "Carrera" means it has racing heritage.

I think the Boutique event will be fun anyway, and suggest you attend if you can, but there won't be any new chronos there.

Somehow I’m still convinced that they will eventually come up with some panda versions of the new 42mm H02 Carrera 😕

We can hope - that design isn't great, but it has potential. However I've heard that it isn't selling very well, so TAG may just do what they always do and completely redesign it in another two years or so.

I like the 42mm Carrera design. Apart from the seconds subdial (or lack of it). But maybe it's a little too conservative to stand out. Also, if it's not selling, I think Tag need to look at their pricing. It's considerably more expensive than a Tudor Black Bay Chrono for example.

Some minor updates would be welcomed. Start by getting rid of the "HEUER 02 || 80 HOURS" label and bring some new colors. The one that I tried a while back, never really did it for me.

Same thing on the Sports, plus get rid of that horrendous recessed seconds subdial

Yep, I think it's a bit of both - the fact that the design is a bit too overdone with the text and the seconds subdial, but also that it's probably priced a bit too high. Like I said, it has potential - just a couple of minor tweaks would really help - but TAG usually don't go the subtle route :/

I think I could be swayed by the blue 42mm H02 with white subdials and (obviously) a white rehaut (doesn’t even need to be a tachymeter one). And to make it a true 1153 reinterpretation, just add a splash of color on the chrono seconds hand. Voilà - not that complicated.

Dial lay-out, sizing and caliber are already all fine, IMHO.

I think we're in agreement, I mocked this up back when it was released:

Tks for sharing ::rimshot::

I’d probably still prefer the panda layout (and not sure whether I’m on board with all the orange around the indices), but still: Isn’t it crazy how some rather small adjustments completely change our perception?

The simple fact of having a contrast-colored rehaut already kickstarts the neurons that make me think: This looks like a true Carrera (rather than just some random chrono)…

They shouldn't have oversized the models nor made the distiction between Elegant (sh1t name) and Sports. There was nothing wrong with the 41mm and 43mm range as it was.
