You many recall that we first saw this watch- albeit briefly- at Baselworld in March, but we can now share the details of the 43mm version of the Carrera Heuer-01

Great post! Which of the two models do you prefer? The black dial or the anthracite? I prefer the rubber strap, but love the starburst dial of the anthracite.

Here's comparison image between the two Heuer-01s

I think the simple Black. Still like it on the rubber, but I do wonder how it would look on a strap...probably something like this image I quickly made...now that looks good!

I love this watch, thank you for the photos. I much prefer both design and size of this one over the 45mm version.
BTW I saw some internal TAG brochure with this watch at AD here in Slovakia and expected pricing was exactly the same as 45 mm model. I hope that final price would be at least a bit lower than 45 mm version.

In the picture above, the black lettering on silver titanium bezel seems to be in a "bold", thicker, larger font; on the other hand with the non-titanium models, the white lettering on black bezel seems to have a thinner font. The same thing occurs with the 45mm Heuer 01 models (see the upcoming 45mm titanium model).

I don't like the thicker font on the titanium watches. I do wish TAG Heuer would use the same thin font from the other models.

I really like the titanium version, although the anthracite dial looks good. For me it needs a skeleton dial thou, otherwise it's just another Carrera chrono, and there's a lot of those already.

There are today, but many of those will be phased out as the newer models come online. The titanium model has the same anthracite dial as the steel model.

I wonder if that's a technical reason? Maybe a different printing technique?

My guess is that is done for legibility reasons.

It's not as eccentric as the skeleton version, but a nice evolution from the current 43mm version.
I'm guessing we will have a nice limited edition Monaco Grand Prix derived from it.

The anthracite is also available with the rubber strap TAG Heuer Carrera CAR201W.FT6046; I am torn between this and the Titanium. Hope to seem them in metal soon!

Having just purchased the skeleton watch, I may be somewhat biased... but I really don't like these on first impression. I think the skeleton watch works because it was an all new case with an all new 'face', whereas this looks like an old Carrera face put into the skeleton case. I may eat those words when I see them in the flesh (I thought the Tudor Pelagos looked nice until I actually saw one!) but right now I'm not digging them. I wonder if the strap is the same, because it would explain why the lugs don't seem to fit properly as the case is smaller... surely not? I think the titanium is the worst of all though...

What's so wrong with titanium? For me it's the material of choice!

Nothing really, just looks wrong. The black bezel sets off the strap, so without it it looks a bit... meh.
Having said that, these watches are already growing on me a bit...

I'm wearing the Connected for the last three weeks and I'm still not convinced about that black rubber strap being a good idea. Not on a non waterproof watch anyways.

I like the titanium version, but I wouldn't get it on the rubber strap. The way that strap flares to the outside edge of the lugs adds to much bulk for me.

That said, I'm really not sold on any of the new Heuer 01 models. I much prefer the LE 1887s that I have (CAR2112, CAR2A12).
