I appreciate the brown, it really stands out.
Reality might tell another story, but it is really nice.

None of the less, my heart is still with the old school of Carrera

I like the changes they've done to the new CARRERA CAR201V- BLACK STEEL (left); original on the (right):

Must say, I would have gone for a 41mm model...not just because I prefer the smaller size, but it would also be a bigger difference between the two models

I'm confused. The 3 and 9 markers look longer on the new version, I'm struggling to understand where they've saved two millimeters...

Would they be able to fit the Heuer 01 movement into a 41mm case though?

The brown looks great but i think it will be harder to sell as used.

I don't like the fact that the case isn't all black and that the red line is missing, I think I'll keep the one I've got!

Will TAG keep making the 45mm?
Surely the shops are going to stock the smaller, newer, cheaper model going forward...?

Yes, I think they'll keep offering both...the 45mm is their top-selling model globally, so I'd be surprised if they dropped it.

I reckon the profit margins on the new model would be even higher, given that (in the US) it's only $300 cheaper, yet is made from steel rather than titanium/ steel

Oh right, good point - I hadn't clicked on that (I've just updated it in my blogpost, thanks!).

I agree. It seems odd that TAG Heuer would produce two watches of the same skeleton style but have 45mm and 43mm models. Those are both the same size in my book: "too big".

Other watch companies usually have a larger gap in available case sizes for the same watch model, e.g. the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra in 38.5mm and 41.5mm, or the Hublot Big Bang in 41mm and 44mm.

Tried the 45mm on and it was too big. Maybe this would look more the part.

I like the blue with blue strap. For once, a blue straop appears to work really well. I'd need to see it in the metal to be sure though.
