Good, it is obviously important to change leadership very frequently to ensure that the brand constantly shifts direction and focus. Inconsistency is what has made Rolex and other luxury brands great.

So if I read correctly Lil' Freddy will be gifted a more important position in Bvlgari?

Zenith has done well under Julien's leadership (IMHO). They are well embraced by the watch enthusiast community, with a very good balance of faithful heritage pieces and modern designs. If he does indeed succeed Frederic at TAG Heuer, I hope Julian takes a similar approach with TAG Heuer.

I don’t. Looking at Tornare’s track record at Zenith, the only thing we can be sure of (IMHO) is that TH will also become eye-wateringly expensive…

LVMH has roughly aligned the price at Hublot with those at VC (right?). Zenith is asking about the same amounts as Rolex does (comparing like-to-like). I could see them wanting to align TH with e.g. Omega or IWC. So, say goodbye to any offerings below 5k…

Okay, time for TAG to go high end again... expect flying tourtbillons up the wazoo and 1/1000000 of a second not Carreras. I just hope JCB is still around in a few years when they need a voice of reason to bring them back to where they should be.

    He meant Biver.
But speaking of Babin, judging by these rumors, I wonder if he will get the bump at Bulgari?

Not really much new in that article. What caught my attention is that TAG Heuer's market share was 4% in 2017, but it's now down to 2%. They've lost half of their market! The decline seems to have been most pronounced under Frederic's watch. Contrast that to Breitling's gain of 1% to 3% under the leadership of Georges Kern.

I cannot find an English version online but guess a translator add-on to your browser will do the trick…

Here are the turnover figures for the same period, again from Morgan Stanley. If Breitling has 3%, with turnover of 860m CHF, then that puts TAG Heuer,s 2% share at around 573m CHF. This equates to only around 23% of the turnover of Omega, which are often suggested to be the closest rivals of TAG Heuer, alongside Breitling.

Plenty of other interesting comparisons to be made on turnover vs units sold when you compare brands.
