FYI part number is FC5081, although it’s written FC5059 (or FC5059-0) in the buckle, because FC5059 is the part number when this buckle is used in other TAG Heuer watches (mainly mechanical Carreras) without the quick release link

Thanks Albert did you need to remove the extension (quick release) because the strap is longer?

No, it was just a test 😉. I use all my Modular buckles complete, so together with the quick release link/extension… otherwise it loses the quick release function

But for someone who still has one of the early Modular 45 straps that were too long, removing this extension would be helpful

Same here: I bought one off eBay but only half came (the one with the logo). The other half, the one with "Tag Heuer" engraved, is missing.
I think this half pertains to another watch, as Albert told me, if I remember correctly (Carrera?). It is really hard to find the whole thing or the little part (in black).

Are there other companies that make imitations? I've been searching for almost a year...

I just re-read this thread 😀 Is there a chance to not use the little 'Tag Heuer' part and connect the strap directly to the bigger part of the clasp (even if it removes the quick-release functionality)? I have the gray leather strap...

Have you asked at your local AD (authorized dealer)? Thanks to @Albert-AMG above, you know the part number to ask for -- FC5081.

I've had good luck so far, for getting bracelet parts, straps and clasps through my local ADs for discontinued watches.

The AD in Toronto is beyond pathetic for older models (I know the part number, from the TH 2018 Dealer Catalogue I own).
If @Albert-AMG answers my question in the positive, I may not need to find it...

A proposito, saludos Albert! Espero que todo vaya bien por BarZelona! 😁

Yes, you can connect the strap directly to the bigger part of the buckle. Just remove this small link from the strap:

and keep the springbar inside the strap to attach the buckle as in a standard strap, like in this picture:

Then you have to adjust your grey strap/buckle considering that the buckle is shorter than when it has the quick release extension

Todo bien por Barcelona. Gracias! 😉👍🏼
