·Hi all,
I have a CV2014-0 ( FT6014) that I bought new from an AD in Sep.2008, so it could have been made 1 or 2 years earlier and be sitting at the AD for a long time
It has been back to the local TAG representative twice for maintenance: once in 2012 for a case polish and another in 2018 because the winding shaft broke, i.e, I was setting the time once and the crown dropped 🙁
Anyway, last year, the bezel insert popped out and I glued it with 2-part epoxy, which lasted for a year, i.e. last week it disappeared in the Atlantic ocean whilst I was in it.
So off to ebay to find a genuine bezel and I decided to have a go at buying a full bezel, not only the insert. I found a fellow named David Hargreaves in ebay that sells those and got it, a HL0445.
When I received it, I removed my insertless bezel which popped out easily and set to install the new one with my crystal press. As the bezels did not look the same, I measured them and checked them thoroughly. The conclusion is, the HL0445 supplied does not fit: my case has a step around it with 38.14mm dia. and the new bezel is 37.34mm internal dia. The original bezel (minus the insert in the pictures) is 38.13mm internal dia.
For the experts here, can you please have a look at the photos and tell me whether:
1. the bezel supplied is a fake.
2. my case is not a CV2014-0 case or maybe, older CV2014-0 have different cases to the most recent ones.
3. Older CV2014-0 cases are different from the recent ones, thus the HL0445 bezel is not the correct one for this watch. In that case, which is?
The seller is adamant saying that it has to fit. But it doesn't.
Any clarity on this mystery would be much appreciated....
