My new Aquaracer

I recently purchased a new Pepsi Aquaracer and I love it. However, either I don't understand how to set the GMT function correctly, or it isn't working correctly.

All of the below comments are based on the 24 hr bezel being set where 0/24 is at the 1200/2400 hrs position.

Last night, I set the GMT hand forward five hours (GMT time) based on the 24 hr bezel - i.e. the local time was 2200 hrs so I set the GMT hand forward five hours to the 0100 hr position on the 24 hr bezel (0130 hrs local). This morning, the GMT hand was four hours BEHIND the local time - i.e. the local time was 1000 hrs, but the GMT hand was at the 1600 hr position on the 24 hr bezel (0800 hrs local).

Any suggestions?

(I hope I've explained the situation correctly. I also hope it's just operator error and it's not the watch. The good news is I bought the watch from a local jewelry store that is an authorized Tag dealer so if there are any problems, I can take the watch back w/in 30 days for a no questions asked refund/replacement.)

Maybe I’m misreading but if the time with you is 22.00 then 5 hours ahead is 03.00?
On my Mont Blanc if I’m at 10 am the gmt hand would at 15.00 so 5 hours ahead.
Pictures would help I reckon.

I have photos, but the main point is, I set the watch ahead five hours, but now it is four hours behind where it was set. That is a nine hour difference in less than 24 hrs. Regardless of how many hours it was set ahead (or behind), it should maintain that interval - right?

Is the GMT function now maintaining the same -4hr gap to the local time? If so, maybe you didn't re-engage the mechanism properly after setting the GMT hand? I would certainly try it again to exclude user error, and if it still isn't keeping in time properly, then take it back to the shop and see if they can help you.

out of curiosity, are you setting the minute hand first before setting the GMT hand or the other way around ?

I've reset the GMT hand for five hours ahead of my local time - I'll see what it looks like in the morning. I ensured I seated the crown properly. I set the minute hand prior to setting the GMT hand.
