I remember seeing the C112 at a major auto show back in the 90's and I was convinced this was my dream car. I wish they would've gone forward and actually produced them. Not to say I coulda woulda bought one..
It was a concept car, only 6 were made (with different engines, including Wankel and a record-breaker Diesel) and all 6 are part of the Mercedes-Benz Classic collection In 2019 the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart organized an special exhibitiom to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the C 111. I was talking about the state of cars in 1991 when I saw them. The C112 just seems to me as a numerical upgrade of the previous C111. Was there ever a C113 or 4?
