Wanted to share with you some details of a cool new project being undertaken by Carlo Stepanians- known on Instagram as @HeuerFan

I got to know Carlo when he went to visit James Garner's daughter to take the fantastic photos of James' Carrera

He's a true Heuer fan with an amazing collection...and a new project called Lugcraft, which launches on 4 May: https://lugcraft.com or @lugcraft on IG

Lugcraft makes specialist accessories for car and watch collectors, specialising in laser etched wood products...such as these cool Autavia skateboards, which are about to take pride of place at Calibre 11 HQ. When I first saw these, I thought these might be scaled down boards...but no, it's the real thing if you want to fit wheels!

The finish is very cool- it's not a pattern applied on top of the wood, but actually laser engraved so you get the textured finish. All the work is done in-house in California..and the quality is amazing.

I'll try and get some more photos of the other Heuer/ TAG Heuer items, as it's not just Skateboards. Well done to Carlo..these are very cool.

Thanks David for the post on the release of my new startup, LugCraft Also, thank you everyone for the feedback. We are very excited to finally have launched our website! We will be constantly adding new designs to our existing line of products, but we still have many other things coming!

One very exciting new product that I am personally anxious about releasing is a set of coasters that will be laser engraved with various vintage Heuer dials! Can't wait until we release those! Feel free to follow us on Instagram to be up to date with all our new releases. Our IG is @LugCraft

And lastly, if the Calibre11 community is interested in a collaboration piece with LugCraft, I am happy to make a custom design for the community. I just need the consensus on what watch everyone wants to vote for as the design on the skateboard (or other product).

Met Carlo yesterday at Rod Emory’s open house in LA. Pretty impressive shop! The Lugcraft creations look even better in real life. That Autavia skateboard is just fantastic.

The quality looks amazing.

Just one thought re the notebooks - it seems a shame to have such high quality work on a product that can very easily become disposable. Would it be worth trying to do a collaboration with one of the 're-usable' notebooks companies, like Rocketbook?
I don't work for Rocketbook, but I'm a very happy customer of theirs, and I would absolutely love to have a Rocketbook with a custom cover that is as cool as these! (IMHO the one thing that lets Rocketbooks down is their cover materials!). Possibly something to think about?

Carlo is great. I'm really happy for him that his business is getting such good traction- not just with the skateboards, but now on aluminium too

I keep meaning to think through what could be good as a limited run for the forum..any ideas?

👍 My vote is also for this one: the 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR “Uhlenhaut Coupé”... my favourite car ever! 🥰... one of the reasons I had to own -sooner or later- the TAG Heuer 300 SLR 😉
