Here is my first contribution to this forum. This is a picture of the Indy 500 100th Anniversary Carrera watch that I saw at the Miami store. I was there purchasing a Connected and only had my cell phone to snap a picture with. This was watch # 27 of the 100 that will be made. You can click on the picture and zoom for a better view
Here's the promo for this:

TAG Heuer Aquaracer Phantom "One Piece"

One Piece is a Japanese comic book. TAG Heuer has done similar LEs for Japan in the past

I'm not sure if this is a limited edition or not, but I came across a manual-wind Carrera Calibre 1. I had never seen a modern Carrera with manual winding before, so it struck me as kind of odd. I also searched calibre11.com but could not find any information on it. Does anyone know when it came out?

The one with steel bracelet is apparently WV3010.BA0796, while another one with leather strap is WV3010.FC6235.

You're right @calibre11user I've never written on this one- which is a miss, because it's a really, really nice watch.

It was launched in 2008 as a Limited Edition of 6000 watches- and I think stayed on in the catalogue for a few years as a regular production model. That beautiful Calibre 1 movement is a Unitas 6498 and is an old pocket watch movement from the 1950s. Unitas is now owned by ETA and they also supply movements to Panerai- or at least used to.

I'm not sure it ever officially came on a bracelet- think it was either a leather strap or rubber (but not saying that a metal bracelet won't fit)

Nice car. Not completely sold on the watch as being quite as worthy of similar legendary status to either that or James Hunt.

Agreed; nonetheless I am all for having more limited editions honoring racing legends. IMHO, this is a far better option than stays true to the brand's heritage, when compared to some of the recent pop-culture ambassadors.

What about a German LE? Is there something wrong with our mountains?

When I went to Bicester the other week there was an Aquaracer with a grey/brown (can't remember) dial with a shark at the bottom of the face...
