Nes post at Calibre 11 where I have picked my the best Carrera LEs from the last 24 years. Interested to hear what you think! https://www.calibre11.com/tag-heuer-best-carrera-limited-editions/
Can't argue with any of your choices. It doesn't make me feel any better about not having my JH80th any more, but nice article, thanks!
Nice choices. The 40th Anniversary doesn't really float my boat but the 300 SLR and the 1969 really do. I like the JH80 too although my preference is for its cousin, CV5111. The Calibre 1 has always interested me and the Clous de Paris on the dial is nice.
Great list and with no hesitation my choice would be the Ronnie Peterson, such a cool and awesome piece with so much amazing history to it
Not only a great education and read, you have selected all really nice choices...spot on with this article / post I really enjoyed it!
Good picks, except these two wouldn't be on my list: THE BEST HAND-WOUND ONE: CARRERA CALIBRE 1- REF. WV3010 ^This one doesn't interest me. THE BEST ONE YOU’LL NEVER FIND: CARRERA CALIBRE 1969- REF. CAR2A50 ^Since I'll never find it, I really don't care. LOL Also, the Blue JH81, Fragment Fujiwara and Telemeter Cal.18 are all higher on my personal Carrera wish list.
Thanks for the feedback- this was a fun one to write. I really wanted to fit the bullhead Carrera Jack Heuer in somewhere, if only to recognise what a bold design it was. I'm a fan of the Skipper, but felt it was either that or the Ronnie Peterson...and the Peterson was more special...just. I love the Fujiwara, but it's really just a straight re-edition. The Singapore GP Edition? I thought briefly about the Carrera Panamericana, which is a cool novelty, but in the end not different enough to the standard Calibre 16 model The 1974-edition Carrera came close But the one that would have been the seventh was the Calibre 1887 Fuji edition
...well there you go: someone with a Carrera 1969. He won't sell it () but will try and get a few more shots
Before I read the article, I wondered if this one might make an appearance. To most, the dial looks plain white but it has a gorgeous, fine-grain textured finish to it. Sadly the finish is only visible under a loupe or perhaps with some good macro photography.
Oh yes. It really divides opinion though doesn't it! Probably the nicest strap TAG Heuer have ever produced too. I have one on my McLaren 1974 Edition.
