Only Heuer. Its in my blood.
But I must say when I was looking around Toyko the other day I saw some loverly watches from other brands especially a beautiful zenith I saw.
Don't know what it might suggest about my character but despite being a big Heuer fan, I can't stay faithful to just one brand when there are so many beautiful women, sorry I mean watches, out there.

I don't think anyone should be too dogmatic about a particular brand. However there's only so many spaces in the watchbox

Yes, agree. I suppose my love and dedication to one brand shows something about my character.
Although, I've had 3 wives so maybe not.

You know, I'm probably saving myself from a world of hurt and bankruptcy by limiting myself to one brand.
If I had the whole watch shop to choose from, life could get messy.
For me, Heuer is an addiction and Basel is like the local Pimp who visits once a year with the new and latest drug.

Just on that.... I'm desperately after a Vintage Heuer Calculator with box and papers if anyone has one out there 😵‍💫

I would love to go to the Ginza Tag boutique to see the Green "Mens' Club" LE Monaco. Something about that watch speaks to me!
I like it.

But...

I am not big on the fact it was called "Men's Club"...

So, its been a great week. a few beautiful watches to add to my collection.
On my way home through Hong Kong for a day and will see how customs goes as I head back to my homeland.

Was so pleased to pick up the New Gulf Monaco 50 LE.
I make it a habit of visitings Tag Heuer stores as I travel as you just never know what you will find. As a collector, I'm always after that special piece and as was the case with the Gulf, you never know your luck.

So it was with the same expectation that I visited the HK Tag Boutique today. Told them of my love for Heuer and how I was always searching for that next piece.
Well, I was absolutely blown away to see that they had one piece left of the 100 piece LE micrograph.
OMG, its is stunning, the most beautiful Tag/Heuer I have seen. a big 45mm with a brilliant white face which has been left clean and is stunning in it's simplicity.
at 172950HKD or around $22,000 it was too rich for my blood.
I dont really like the term , Pull the trigger" when referring to buying a watch, but I am sure if I had bought this, the term " pull the trigger" would have taken on a whole different meaning when my wife found out.

Any of you seen one of these in the metal?

There are some nice examples out there at (comparatively) reasonable prices. The B&P may be tough though. I'll keep an eye or two out. 😀

Never seen one of the new Mikrographs in the metal. I think that for the sake of your marriage, your sacrifice was warranted. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for the marital advice Hubert.
Just arrived home this morning. Got through customs OK pleading “nothing to declare”

Actually Hubert, I was wondering if you had one of these.
I would say if you saw it in the metal you may not be able to say no. Seeing as this was based on the stop watch which was designed over 100 years ago, they sure did understand about restraint in design back then.
A big leap away from the skeleton type design we see today which I just can’t get my head around.
I know others like it but it’s not my cup of tea.

PS. Still haven’t shown my wife my 3 purchases yet so the marriage could still go either way.
I’ll wait until she’s in a good mood. .......................

I agee with you, it would have been very difficult to say no to this.

You spoiled us with the first 3 ones in this thread so I actually felt disappointed when you wrote that you did not buy it 🙁😉 the right choice would have been to buy it, right? It will haunt your mind until you pick one up 😁

In my house that would probably be never😀, good luck when the moment of truth comes.

I have a mate who goes on holiday usually with two watches on his wrist, set to two different time zones, one home and the other the destination, claims he can't change the setting, he's had some interesting conversations at customs.

Haha you might need a new mate.

Have you tried to show how to wind the crown one way and then the other depending where in the world he is ?

Or... even better .... show him this 😀
