Albert doesn't disappoint and will have the definitive Modular collection by far.

:D The yellow rubber strap with TH logos and the pink rubber strap with TH logos are flying from NY to Barcelona! :)

It was a pleasure to make deals with @mdh518

    @Albert-AMG
Why don’t you stop spending money on an old watch and save for the Gen 3, which is much better? ::bleh::

    :D For some reasons:

-I have two Carrera mechanical modules (I’m missing the Heuer 02 Tourbillon module... but it’s too expensive for me!), so when in few years Gen3 becomes obsolete and it turns into a simple Chinese paperweight, my “old” mechanical modules will be still running like Swiss watches for many more years and combining with all these straps and accessories ::bleh:: So all the investment in my Modular collection is “Connected to Eternity”, while investment in Gen3 is not ;)

-I like the design of the Gen2 Modular 45 much more than Gen3 design. Gen2 shares design with the Carrera 45mm (H01, H02, H02T), and it has a strong personality. I specially love the way how the straps meet the case. Moreover Gen2 is Modular (the one and only Modular watch ever), it’s also the only Swiss Made TH smartwatch, it’s made by more high-end materials than Gen3, and it has an impressive range of straps, lugs, and accessories to customize it. Gen3 is nice and it looks very well finished, but it has not the same personality, and it looks like many other Chinese smartwatches in the market...... for instance, its design reminds me of this Huawei Watch GT released in October 2018:

    D555BA4F-3058-440A-B01A-5A869573B402.jpeg 4222A27C-4577-4AED-966B-CCFED9DF48D9.jpeg 7FFDC51F-0138-4865-B865-4BDDF6371DBF.jpeg

And Gen3 has also a very similar design to this Lemfo/Smartbox/Microwear (different brands, same watch) model L7 that you can buy at AliExpress for 40€ :cautious:... and this L7 was released in May 2019, so it’s not a copy of Gen3, because it was released 10 months before Gen3!

And Gen3 even reminds me the design of this 2019 Lige, for sale at AliExpress by 22€...

    A6F93D21-B112-4988-AAFC-D9CD2306EB42.png

There is also a (March 2019) Padgene/Fitsport smartwatch with very similar design to Gen3, but I think there were enough pictures in the post ;)...

So definitely Gen3 does not have the same personality nor is it as unmistakable as Gen1 and Gen2 Modular, and for all these reasons I’m still investing in my beloved Gen2 Modular 45 (and its mechanical modules) and not in Gen3. I hope I have answered your question  ::bleh:: ;)

    You’re losing your mind...
It’s as if you compare a Ferrari to a Dacia because they both have 4 wheels. ::facepalm1::

Not at all! I’m talking just about design, not about quality. Please take another look at the pictures of the 2018 Huawei Watch GT (and even the L7), and please be sincere ;)

The design of Gen3 is much more reminiscent of that of the Huawei (and the L7), than what a Ferrari resembles a Dacia :whipped: Come on! ;)

Ok that was a bad example.
It’s as if you compare an iPhone to an Alcatel, a meter away you couldn’t tell which is which.

Yes, but in this case the iPhone was the first one, the iPhone was setting the trend, and we could say the Alcatel (and many other smartphones in the market) just copied iPhone design

    “Reasonable similarities” ;)

The problem with Gen3 is that it has been launched 1.5 years after the Huawei Watch GT... so it’s not Huawei who has copied Gen3 but Gen3 design which has a lack of personality, while Gen1 and Gen2 have a great personality, the same of the Carrera 45mm. You can only confuse Gen2 M45 with Gen1 (so with another TAG Heuer), but for sure you can't confuse it with a much lower priced Chinese watch! And for me this is another weak point of Gen3 compared to Gen2, and another of the reasons that lead me to continue with my Gen2

As an owner of both second generation and third generation I’ve come to the conclusion that each has unique characteristics that I like over the other. The third generation has more up-to-date hardware having heart rate sensor and other nice features, while there is no comparison to the versatility offered in the second generation modular design. I’m going to keep my modular and get a mechanical watch head for it, while continuing to wear my latest for daily use. One of the reasons I love the smart watches is for fitness tracking which the third generation does much better in my opinion.

It's extremely sad how similar the gen 3 is to that lemfo, 99 percent of people couldn't tell them apart.

Updated picture of my Modular 45 collection after the unexpected arrival of two brand new and very rare straps thanks to @mdh518 : the pink rubber strap with TH logos from the Giro d’Italia Limited Edition (101 pieces), and the yellow rubber strap with TH logos from the BMC Cycling Team (not sold to the public)

Hey. Any idea which modular bracelet comes in steel and has polished sides?

Stainless steel bracelet for the Modular 45 has never been in the TH Catalog, only the titanium bracelet (BF0608) and the black ceramic bracelet (BH0933) officially exists

And also for the Modular 41 the original bracelet is titanium (BF0609) and not steel... I remember we already discussed this in this thread:
    https://forums.calibre11.com/thread...acelet-for-the-connected.100471/#post-1311627

and our conclusion was: this Modular steel bracelet is a very good fake, or a prototype/pre-series version that never was launched

    :D Thanks!

About mechanical modules it’s missing the H02T, but about straps is quite complete... although there are three more straps for the Modular 45, that I would add to the collection if I find them:

    - the orange rubber strap with TH logos 1FT6158 (or 2FT6158 for black buckle) only available at the US market. It’s not possible to order it through my AD in Barcelona, and I never have found one at ebay

-the red rubber strap with TH logos (also from the BMC Cycling Team)... at least I have the other BMC exclusive strap: the yellow one with TH logos! :)

    - and the white rubber strap “painted” by Alec Monopoly, from the Monopoly Limited Edition
