Yes cooled down quite a bit, especially the rarest and most prized ones. A Siffert, Rindt, Andretti or even a McQueen can be had for a fraction of prices two years ago. The lower end has remained decently valued although c shaped Autavias have suffered a bit.

IMO Heuer was undervalued for a very long time, then overcorrected in an especially frothy watch market a couple years ago. Now it's come back down to around where it should be IMO

Yeah I think this sums up my feelings on it fairly nicely too.

This Monaco in particular was a piece of history-film, ' celebrity', automotive and Heuer...probably in that order. As such I don't believe it's wholly relevant to the wider Heuer market and don't really see it affecting future Heuer prices much, other than drawing some people's attention back once again to the Monaco and in particular the 1133b.

Rebirth? Nah. (Of course a future Hodinkee article covering the 'rebirth of the vintage Heuer market' may well go some way to contradicting this however. 😒)

Only reason there will be an article is if a number of Hodinkee staff or their friends have some Heuers they want to offload for much higher prices than they could get today.

Also remember which venture has a stake in hodinkee? Nothing like using the publication to rekindle interest around the brand you have in your portfolio.....

Yep. They did it to the Universal Geneve "Nina Rindt" a few years ago, and they didn't even have investors to please back then. If you ever wonder why Hodinkee does something, just remember that the original founders were bankers.
