Hi all - I have a bit more experience with vintage Omega, but i've been bitten by the Heuer bug. I've always admired the Monaco 1133, but what are thoughts on the Monza 150.501? Specifically, is the caliber 12 or caliber 15 more "desirable"? I think the brass PVD is quirky and interesting. Would it be my only vintage watch? No. But as an F1 fan and Ferrari fan, I think the Monza is a fun entry into vintage Heuer.

Great option for your first Vintage Heuer.
Especially being a Ferrari fan. Here is a pic of mine. 3991.jpg

I ended up pulling the trigger on a cal 12 Monza. Really good condition from the original owner located in NY with papers. Really love the dial on these. I've read that there is apparently a version with stainless steel case metal coated in PVD (in addition to the chrome plated versions)? Would love a stainless steal version if these actually exist!

Very nice example! I love my Monza. I would definitely recommend you get a rally strap for it.

Outstanding example

Not sure your f/up question is very clear, though… Are you asking whether there were two different case materials used before plating? Or whether the non-black version(s?) is (are?) brushed steel or chromed?

How much do these go for today just out of curiosity? I had one in 1981. Thanks

I think you should be able to find one around 4 -5K USD. Chrono24 has a decent selection.
Finding good one with nice in tact PVD is the trick though.

I'm asking if there are two different case materials before plating. Is there a stainless-steel case with black PVD plating?

No-as far as I know all Heuers were brass that were coated/plated, there are no SS cases that were PVD coated.
